Scaling off by a factor of 1000

Post by SimonC »

Dear all,

I have implemented a simple scaling function on a current reading of a pressure sensor, but now each time I start Enviromon I get an error message saying "logger configuration appears to be incorrect". If I click "OK", all readings seem to be correct except the 4-20mA signal that should be converted to a pressure is off by a factor of 1000; for example, I calculated that it should be 0.47 mbar (over ambiant) at 4.415 mA but Enviromon states it is 470 mbar.

Here's what is in my scaling file:

[Scale1]
Name=pressure test
Conditioner=373
Sensor=2
Units=mbar
OutOfRange=0
Places=1
Method=0
NoOfPoints=2
Raw1=3.9
Scaled1=0
Raw2=9.4
Scaled2=6

As extra information, the pressure sensor connected is rated to return a current between 4 and 20 mA, but for an ambiant measurement it returns 3.9 on average.

Does anyone know what is going wrong?

Hi,

Looking at your scaling file, it is shwoing that 3.9mA = 0mbar and 9.4mA = 6mbar, but you say that your sensor gives an output in the range of 4-20mA.

Another thing to point out is, what are the jumper set up as in the EL037?

Kind regards
