Dear Anders, For many applications the new zoom tool in PicoScope 6 is a big step forward from PicoScope 5 - you just draw a box around the area to zoom in. As you say however the time it does not work as well is when you only want to zoom in one axis or the other. There will be more zoom tools in f...

Hi,

The PicoScope 5000 series require power at all times. The high sampling rate / bandwidth and memory depth of the product means that they require far more power than the USB port can supply.

As you mention an AC adapter is included.

The 8 temperature channels can be measured using a TC08 (which has 8 channels) and thermocouples (standard rather than insulated should be OK). For the other parameters, the answer depends a bit on where you are picking up the signals from / what sensors you are using. Depending on the age / technol...

To clarify, the PicoScope 5000 has an AUX IO connector on the back which can be used to synchronise multiple units. In this way you can use 2 PicoScope 5000 units to give 4 channels and so on. Please note however, although the hardware is present on all units sold it will be some time before this fu...

Hi,

You can easily invert a channel in PicoScope by setting a custom range. For example if you select

1000 -1000
0 0
-1000 1000

As the scaling then you have a 1V range that is inverted.

Re: PicoScope 5000

Hello. I have a few questions about the PicoScope 5000 series oscilloscope. A. What is the max input voltage? Is it 5V? How can one measure HV signals? Is there any way to extend that to ~20kV RMS? Does this scope support x1000 probes? The maximum input range using a x1 probe is 20V. The software s...

Hi,

I would suggest you look at the firstlook sensor which has been successfully used to detect leaking valves.

Hi,

Are you sure you are talking about a Pico Technology product, our products are external oscilloscopes / data loggers that plug into the USB, serial or parallel port.

Hi,

There is a bit on the web site about the LIN bus
http://www.picotech.com/auto/waveforms/lin_bus.html

If you have the automotive software, the LIN bus topic is under CAN bus on the automotive drop down menu.

Hi, The single shot sampling rate of the 3206 is 200MSPS so with a 75MHz sinewave you have about 3 samples per waveform. To view higher frequency signals I suggest you use ETS sampling which boosts the sampling rate to GSPS but only works for repetitive signals (ie the sort of fast waveforms that co...

Hi, The parallel cable is a D25 male to female. The pins are wired 1-1, 2-2, 3-3 etc. All pins are connected. You can get the latest software from the web & hopefully you have the power supply - if not it needs between about 9V and 24V and the centre pin of the power connector is positive. Regards A...
