Re: Use of GetTimebase function

Thank you for the quick response, Andrew. It seems to clear that *timeIntervalNanoseconds and * maxSamples are outputs and the other variables inputs to the function. I apologize and will try to be more clear. I agree that the ins/outs are syntactically clear. What I am failing to understand is why ...

Re: Frequency Response Analyzer with Bode Plots

Hi Aaron, I was using the low noise mode. I just tried the noise reject mode and it seems to work. I am using the PicoScope's internal signal generator. Thank you, Miles Hmm, the plot thickens :) This points to some sort of initialization (or lack thereof) sequence issue. Are the issues with low no...

Use of GetTimebase function

I'm working to diagnose this issue for the FRA4PicoScope app: https://www.picotech.com/support/viewtopic.php?p=145045#p145045 and it's raising questions in my mind on proper use of the GetTimebase function. For a long time now, my application has assumed that timebase does not affect the maximum num...

Re: Frequency Response Analyzer with Bode Plots

Hello Aaron, do you plan to support (cheap) external function generators e.g. like the FY6800? Would be nice to extend the frequency range to 60 MHz. with best regards Andreas Hello Andreas, You may know that I recently added an ability to extend FRA4PicoScope to allow for external signal generator...

Re: Frequency Response Analyzer with Bode Plots

I am getting the same message using FRA4PicoScope 0.7.0b with a PicoScope 4824. "Start frequency must be >= inf Hz Error: Invalid inputs." The 32-bit PicoScope SDK (10.7.18.140) is installed. When FRA4PicoScope first starts up it says "Status: 4824 S/N: FZ013/155 successfully initialized." If I cli...

Re: Frequency Response Analyzer with Bode Plots

Oh, Thank you so much, Aeron, for the help; I am very beginner at the picoscope. I have just tried to use a signal generator, so I connect it, but I don't know how to set it up. When I select the "built-in" option, it says "Signal Generator plugin not configured." When I select the "External" optio...

Re: Frequency Response Analyzer with Bode Plots

So What is the method to use this software? What I have followed, 1) COnnect the USB of picoscope and open picoscope 6 software 2) open the Fra 4 picoscope software and go to file>connect the scope (When I select that option it says me no compatible picoscope device found) Am I following the right ...

Re: Frequency Response Analyzer with Bode Plots

Hello I have read that and installed that, I just downloaded your software and when I connect the picoscope with my laptop but in the FRA4Picoscope it says "no compatible picoscope device not found" Hi Avi, Couple of important questions here: 1) Did you also install the latest 32 bit Picotech SDK? ...

Re: Frequency Response Analyzer with Bode Plots

RTFM....I reread the wiki and took the advice from earlier in the thread and using a simple RC filter it all worked. Npw to try it on the amp... I also saw that Calibrate is on the list of features to add. Thank you for sticking with it! I realize the information is kind of scattered. Picotech wrot...

Re: Frequency Response Analyzer with Bode Plots

Hello Folks First of all, Aeron, it's really great work. I am new to picoscope and FRA4scope software; I don't know how to use the FR4Scope, My main goal is to Analyze the Impedance; can you please guide me on how to do this and how to use the FRA4scope software. Regards Avi Thank you for your inte...

Re: Generator Frequency rounding issue

I did a few more experiments here with my DC509 frequency counter. This time I set it in an averaging mode that gives me 8 digits of precision and let it warm up for an hour to make sure its clock is stable. There does appear to be some shift going on here around 46kHz: see plots attached. Absolute ...

Re: Frequency Response Analyzer with Bode Plots

mnni - I am able to replicate your findings on a PS5444A - purity drops from near 1 to 0.46 around 46kHz. For a while I was also thinking that the use of SetSigGenBuiltIn (and the explicit truncation to floats in PicoScopeFRA::StartCapture) was the problem since a single precision float only has ~6-...

Re: Frequency Response Analyzer with Bode Plots

These graphs were measured with fixed stimulus. I have made an injection transformer from what was left in a junk box and tried adaptive stimulus but it failed. Thought it was because of a bad transformer. It was my first experience of measuring control loop and I was quite in a hurry to finish the...

Re: Frequency Response Analyzer with Bode Plots

Hi, first of all, thanks for your incredible tool. I spent many hours computing FRF "by hands" loading tons of data in MATLAB and computing over there my FRF. Your tool is great. Just a question: I did not found the possibility to display the coherence plot (quite usefull plot to check the goodness...
