Re: SPI/UART decoding is great, but ...

It is the latest version, 6.5.80.5.

The fustration that made me write the first post, is that I work on one project for 3-4 months. And therefore, it is irritating to have to go into *hidden-menus* to re-change settings every time PS is starting.

Check for update, error

Hi

I use PicoScope 6.5.80.5.

Today I checked for your

...and was happy to see a new version PicoScope / PicoScope Automotive R6.6.10
(Released: 18 October 2011)

When I press the 'check for updates' in picoScope, it says, I am running the latest version...

Re: 6.6.x Beta an the CPU usage

Good job chrisi1909!

Make sure, that picoscope does not start to eat PC power, again.

Reducing CPU usage has been one of the great improvements in the latest releases.

Keep the focus on it.

SPI/UART decoding is great, but ...

Hi The serial decoding is great. It was first introduced in a beta release over a year ago, and has improved in many steps since then. The decoding (both UART and SPI) is now fast and reliable, except for the last char in each sweep. For SPI, the last char is often decoded to 'unknown'. I first got ...

Logging battery time, bug report

Hi When the sweep time is set to more than 500s, the scope does not work. Verifying the buy is easy: Set sweep time to 1000s, number of samples to 1k (or 10k it does not matter). Start a sweep and wait. Nothing happens. Reduce sweep time to 500s, and the scope works again. I would like to use PicoSc...

Re: Version 6.5.78.5 is great

Yes, 6.5.78.5 is great.... but There are still bugs. I use the picoscope 5203 as standalone signal generator, AWG. But the output on the AWG is not enabled before the scope has been making at least one sweep. This is a strange thing because the AWG output should be enabled (and disabled) in it's own...

s-parameters

Hi LeCroy is coming out with a new product serie they call SPARQ. It is basically like the picotech 9000 serie. Both series are TDR/TDT scopes. There are two significan differences: 1) LeCroy is providing software that calculates S-parameters 2) LeCroy is selling their scopes at a 7-8 times the pric...

Check for updates

Hi One of the lastest and most velcome features is the "check for updates" function. I am using version: 6.5.42.0 (beta). On picotech.com the lastest version is R6.5.54. (beta). The "check for updates" says, that I am using the latest version. :? Maybe it would be nice to have a update wizard to giv...

Re: UART decoding

The same problem of UART getting confused with chars without spacing has also been reported by maxsca and elman on another thread. maxsca has included psdata file.

I am working on another aspect of my project at the moment, so I can not make a psdata file with UART problems. :|

triggering from a filtered signal

I want to low pass filter a signal in PicoScope6 and then trigger from the signal. Low pass filtering works great and the signal looks good on the screen, but the trigger is activated from the raw signal. I think, the obvious thing would be to trigger from the filtered signal and not the unfiltered....

Re: UART decoding

Thanks for the UART and SPI decoding! They both works and they are a great asset during product development. :) I really think they should pay back to you in terms of new scopes sold. There are a few points for improvement. 1. The UART gets confused if the chars are comming without time spacing. Thi...

Re: UART decoding

No, that was a terrible suggestion. :( I think. *Most* customers will probably just need UART or SPI coding. A few months ago, you made a questionnaire about this with all your customers, so you should know by the numbers, what the customers want. Picotech, make it easy for yourself, and for the cus...

Re: Delete selected waveforms from buffer

I have not found a way to delete any waveform in the buffer. I have just updated to version 6.4.28 and the navigation is improved a lot: The annoing next-previous-waveform-bugs have been removed. I think, the navigation and the buffer control is very simple. When a measurement starts, the buffer is ...
