Re: Acquiring Volage, current and resistance with PC

Vincenzo, As you stated, you know that the USB TC-08, even though only has a input range of 70mV, can measure 0-5V and 4-20mA. This is possible by using resistors and current shunts. With resistors and current shunts, a single voltage data logger can be used to measure a wide range of voltages. If y...

Re: ADC 24 versus TC 08

Spinner, If you ignore the error in the thermocouples themselves, a thermocouple logging system will be accurate based on the following: 1) Cold Junction Error 2) Amplification Error 3) Linearity Error Thermocouples measure the difference between the hot (the casting process) and the cold (data logg...

Re: Problem with saving CVS data to file

PAK,

What software version are you using? Try out R6.3.4 which you can download from http://labs.picotech.com/ and see if this fixes your save as CSV issues...

Re: Waveform with nothing attached to 2205

Phunfoto, If a good portion of the noise disappeared after you disconnected the AC power from the laptop, I would suspected that the power supply that you are using is injecting a good amount of noise into the laptops power system. With nothing connected to the scope input there will be some noise i...

Re: 2205 Min sig gen output level

Ccoops9000, Currently, the software allows you to choose between 250mV and 2V on the amplitude levels. A work around for this, to get lower levels is to use the arbitrary waveform generator function. For example, with the amplitude set on 250mV and the min at -1 and the max at 1 you will have a pk-p...

Re: Probe accessories

Gerry, The yellow plastic shrouds go onto the probe tips and act as insulators. These insulators allow more precise placement on small pins where unintentional pin contact may occur. The two small half tube sections slip around the test leads. These serve as quick channel identifiers (for example th...

Re: ADC 24 versus TC 08

Spinner, There are several differences between the USB TC-08 and the ADC-24. The main difference however is that the TC-08 was designed with thermocouple data logger in mind for it's primary purpose. While you can log thermocouple readings with the ADC-24, it was designed to fit multiple application...

Hans, The PicoScope 3224 set to capture approx 200mS would capture the signal at a sampling interval of 400nS (800nS if two channels are enabled). Therefore you would be able to obtain your 1uS resolution requirement. The single shot mode would not affect this requirement. Regards, Richard Boyd Crag...

Bikash, No, you do not use the ps3000_get_timebase for fast streaming mode. For fast streaming mode you configure and call the functions like so: 1. Open the oscilloscope using ps3000_open_unit(). 2. Select channel ranges and AC/DC switches using ps3000_set_channel(). 3. Set the trigger using ps3000...

Hello, You can log with the ADC-212 in this mode to accomplish what you are trying to do, you can log for days, you will be limited on how long you can long by how much hard drive space you have. If you do not need to delay the restart of the logging for 30 seconds and instead start logging again as...

Bikash, You are using the fast streaming mode of the PicoScope unit. In this mode the values are returned from the driver aggregated based on the number of aggregation that you passed to the ps3000_run_streaming_ns function. The two buffers are the min and max aggregated values. Since the min buffer...
