Re: Picolog UI overhaul

You are so right! I've been using PicoLog since DOS days, and as far as I remember, the first Win version of PicoLog was a DOS version with a GUI. Only recently the "DOS" fonts was replaced with some more modern fonts in the Spreadsheet and Logger view. The PicoLog software needs renewal instead of ...

Re: Multipe Users with the same settings

Another (easy) way is to make the settings file (.PLS) read only and then in Windows assosiate it with PicoLog.exe. 1) Create a settings file and give it a meaningfull name. 2) Make it Read Only in File Properties. 3) Right click the PLS file in File Explorer > Open With > Choose Program > PLW32 and...

Re: ADC24 data lost?

Hi Take at look at this link: http://www.picotech.com/support/topic6257.html If you are running a newer version of PicoLog it can very well be the same problem. There is no difference between ADC-24 and TC08 with respect to the problem above. I have both ADC-24 and TC08 and they behave equal in loos...

Re: TC-08 - Voltage and Temperature

There is no problem in measuring voltage and temperature at the same time (but of course on different channels). Input is limited to app. 70 mV in voltage mode, so use a simple resistor based voltage divider to reduce your supply voltage to an appropriate voltage less than 70 mV. Then use a two pair...

Re: Self (battery) powered data logger, with storage

I certainly think that you should consider a professional data logger that can withstand the environment.

See for example here:

They are certainly not cheap, but they can perform the job

Re: PLW Spreadsheet window display problem in Picolog

Hi Zane. OK, I think the right thing to do next is to ask the Pico people what to do... However a tip from here might help you: I always made the settings file (*.pls) Read Only with File Explorer. Then the program starts exactly the same way every time I restart the program and open that specific '...

Re: PLW Spreadsheet window display problem in Picolog

I think you can call it a bug (among other). My experience is that when you restart a logging session, the spreadsheet window will display cells down the number of readings that corrosponds to the previous session. It is easy to recover the actual cells by scrolling up with the right scrollbar. If y...

Re: Corrupt PLW file from TC08 and Pico recorder

Hi Stuby I have uploaded r5.20.5 here: http://www.sendspace.com/file/7c7es4 It works fine for me on both an old Win2000 pro and on Win XP Give a feedback if it helps. That could also be a hint for other users with crash problems. I think the best thing to do is that Pico as soon as possible should r...

Re: Corrupt PLW file from TC08 and Pico recorder

Hi PicoTech and users Don't you think that the problems with all the many users who report corrupted files from PicoLog could be addressed to the problem that I raised in a post from March 30. in the PicoLog Forum: http://www.picotech.com/support/topic5979.html If somehow the program crashes or free...

Re: differential thermocouple configuration for TC-08

You can find all the best data in the world for thermocouples here: http://srdata.nist.gov/its90/useofdatabase/use_of_database.html But be aware at your procjet is measuring differences - not actual temperatures. Also have in mind that thermocouples is not a precise sensor. If you need to measure te...

Re: differential thermocouple configuration for TC-08

One way you might do it is to configure the input as mV measuring and then just measure the input difference. You then have to calibrate the sensors. That is apply some known temperature differences between the two TC couples. The applied temperature differences must be within your measuring range. ...

Hi Peter Thanks for the reply. Nice to know that your SW folks have been able to reproduce the problem. It's OK to wait for the next release, but can I humbly ask if the other two issues I have raised, could be solved also. 1. from Mon Feb 15, 2010 and answered by you. http://www.picotech.com/suppor...

Re: Running Player while logging.

Hi, Are you currently using PicoLog R5.21.1? I would recommend that over any previous version. PicoLog is continuously evolving and recent changes are geared towards reliability when logging large files over long periods. This restricts access to the .plw file for a period after each sample to stop...
