Re: New to scopes

Terry, Not sure on the pricing....My head works in USD and we don't know the used equipment market. But...the 3223 is a fine scope. No longer available new. The second most powerful two channel automotive scope on the planet. Topped only by the Pico 4223. Might be a good choice and then upgr...

Re: New to scopes

Terry, The auto kits are a great value. By the time you purchase the scope and just a few bits of the kit individually, you have already spent enough for the full kit. Re: New to scopes

I think any one of the automotive scope kits would be your best choice. The 4000 series scopes have more power than you will need and come with many essential accessories. Which one you choose would depend on how many channels you need and how many accessories. _________________ Tom Roberts (The Pic...

Re: Changing the Y-Axis

Matt, The easiest way to do that would be to use a current probe. This would pick up the current in the circuit inductively and provide a proportional voltage to the scope. Then just create a custom probe within PicoScope that will provide you with a current scaling. We use them a lot in automotive ...

Re: What Scope to get

Fred, The automotive scopes will work with either the automotive or standard 6.xx software versions. The non-automotive scopes will not work with the automotive software. For the most part, the automotive software will do what the standard version does with added automotive features. New features of...

Re: Software installation

Trevor, Just another thought.... Pico 6.x required the Dot NET Framework. If that PC does not have the Microsoft Dot NET Framework, the installer could be trying to go get it and failing because there is no internet connection. Check to see if the framework is there and if not, install that first. _...

Re: Scope selection advice

Bob, The 2204 would not be nearly the scope the 4000 automotive scopes are. The memory is small and it's 8bit instead of 12bit. It also won't work with the automotive software, if that matters. You can still use the test and measurement version. You would also be limited to 20v inputs instead of 100...

Re: Ruler legend not saved

Hi Philip, We have already covered this in a PM...But for the benefit of others: The best way to save an image of the screen is to use the print screen key on your keyboard or the new Edit/Copy Entire Window as Image function in the 6.2.14.0 build. Then you paste this into your favorite image editin...

settings

Hi maxsca, You can do that in different ways. Each saved data file or settings file is a preset and, when opened, will configure the scope the way it was when these were saved. This means that the number of custom presets you can have is unlimited. You can also use the File/Startup Settings/Save Sta...

Great

Hey, Peter! Good to hear you got it going OK. The fun starts now. :)

Good also to hear your local vendor in Australia was so helpful.

Drivers

It's possible that the 4000 drivers were not installed when you loaded the software. Run the installer again and choose modify. Make sure you select the 4000 scope from the dropdown and then also check the box for install for other devices. This will make sure the driver is installed. Then plug in t...

Thanks

Thanks, Ziko. That's good to know. More and more 64 bit Vistas out there these days. I don't imagine there are any plans to make a 64 bit driver for that adapter, since they are being discontinued.. The legacy 212 scopes were good but the new USB scopes are a quantum leap forward. _________________ ...

Vista and USB adapter

The Parallel/USB adapter works fine with Vista 32 using PicoScope 6 and a 212/50. Just verified this. I would recommend the PicoScope 6 anyway. Even with the old 212 series. Ziko, is it the 64 bit Vista that the USB adapter drivers don't work with? We don't have a 64bit here to try. ________________...
