Re: 10 voltages, only 6 GND sockets

Hi do0mn0ob, All the grounds ARE the same (the multiple GND connections on the terminal board are all connected to one point in the PicoLog 1216). So, yes, you can, in theory, use a single ground for all inputs, it just becomes impractical to try and squeeze a number of grounds into the one terminal...

Re: Best sub-$100 USB Oscilloscope?

Hi Brandon, I can't tell you what the best sub $100 scope would be (ebay would probably be better for that) because a PicoSope would start at $115 without probes. However, I can tell you that, USB based Scopes will give you the best bang for your buck, as you are only paying for the key element of w...

Hi idavidnguyeni,

The answer given here: topic40756.html also applies to the PicoScope 4424.

Re: Waveform averaging in PicoScope for Mac?

Hi FLeupold, Waveform averaging in Scope Mode is done in a Math Channel using the average (x bar) Buffer function, however, the Mac version doesn't support the Math Channels of the Windows version. We are looking to provide this in the up and coming new version of PicoScope software. In the meantime...

Re: Differential probe TA042 questions

Hi idavidnguyeni,

Yes, the probe is compatible with the PicoScope 4425.

I have create Custom Probe files for the 2 ranges of the probe below:

Re: Python Project for Oscilloscope Automation

Hi bcw962, There are 3 ways to do what you want: 1/ The easiest way to use simple automation, is to use the Macro Recorder in PicoScope 6 (under the 'Tools->Macro Recorder' menu option). You just set it to record your actions and it will then create an execution run that you can save as a file to lo...

Re: Picolog 6 and forcing scale of input data

Hi hexibot43, I hear ya, regarding the rage against the machine thing. Some time ago, we used to have a ticketing system that took pleasure in logging you out after hours of researching and hand crafting an answer. Since then I tend to write anything of value and length in tools with recoverable dat...

Re: Mismatch between raw data and PicoScope6 displayed data?

Hi Ezekiel, I'm assuming that by relative amplitude, you mean peak or RMS so, that aside, I have a few questions regarding sanity checks for your coding. 1/ Have you measured the frequency of the API generated waveform just as a double check? 2/ Have you performed a reasonable number of captures for...

Re: Serial decoded data logger

Hi Fontanesi, Unfortunately, the Serial Decoder only works on collected buffers of data (so it can't decode continuous streamed data). This means that you would be limited by the available memory in the hardware PicoScope. If we assume that for a 10MBps rate you are sampling the data at 25 times the...

Hi jr7305,

You are more likely to get the response you are looking for by posting your question on the Automotive forum here: https://www.picoauto.com/support/.

Re: Waveform Buffer Index problem

Hi Juan, These are 2 completely independent counters. The Waveform Buffer Index (your figure 3) tells you how many waveforms have been captured and are currently being held in Memory, while the Capture Count (your figure 2) tells you how many of the waveforms captured during the current Multiwavefor...

Re: Moving Rulers With Keyboard Arrows

Hi Kevin, If you go to the menu options Tools->Preferences->Keyboard and then click in the 'Show Full Key List' Checkbox, you should be able to scroll down to the bottom of the list and see Ruler->Decrement & Increment, which you should then be able to click on and select Keys for your shortcuts. Re: Picolog 6 and forcing scale of input data

Hi Mab, If the temperature sensor data is only at the millivolt level then using millivolts as a scale would display the data in the best resolution, so that you can see more detail than what would be displayed using a scale of volts. So, could you explain why you are asking the question so that I c...

Re: usb-wifi dongle how to?

Hi Steve, Unfortunately, what you are asking is not going to be straightforward to do, as we don't have software or an API that can interpret SCPI comands. So, in order to use SCPI commands, you would need to download our Software Development Kit (from here: https://www.picotech.com/library/oscillos...

Re: intro and question regarding signal fitting procedure

Hi GrotcH, Within our PicoScope 6 software, we have numerical tools to perform automatic measurements, automatic basic statistical analysis on those measurements, and mathematical functions on the actual waveforms (using Math Channels). There are 2 problems with what you are asking, in that the Math...
