New accurate and fast phase shift calculation formula

AFAIK there is no built-in phase shift calculation formula in PS6. To measure phase between two signals one either uses cursors or this formula that has been circulating on forum for a while: (acos(integral(A*B)/(sqrt(integral(A*A))*sqrt(integral(B*B))))/Pi*180) Who has used given formula probably n...

Re: Waveform averaging - the PicoScope way

When observing some other similar product noticed that sample points on normal trace are aligned with trigger pos. When enable averaging it also keeps same sample interval as regular trace, and also keeps sample points aligned with trigger pos. Getting more smooth trace is governed by "oversampling"...

Re: Waveform averaging - the PicoScope way

Noticed averaging keeps same "sample interval" as current sample rate dictates. But does not keep phase with original signal. When starting capture it assumes some random position within total "play" approx same as sample interval. Average trace is in magenta, and max play observed is marked with cu...

Re: User interface AWG suggestion

There's also issue that AWG icon has no indication if AWG is ON or OFF. Problematic because it can be saved in settings being in ON state. I often discover - oops AWG was ON all the time. Potential to destroy DUT. Easiest would be enable colored button background when AWG is ON, like it works with s...

Re: True RMS values

Overall cannot accept zoom somehow messing with math. Zoom should be GUI, not data processing feature. This is considerable limitation for large memory models. But even presuming current situation ok and explanations, I stand by claim that something is still completely broken with initiation of zoom...

Re: True RMS values

Noticed made some errors myself on last screenshot. In fact theres not a single correct value shown  TRMS for 1000mVpp (500mVp) is 353.6mV. Heres new one using non-triggered trace. Can clearly see that only way to obtain correct number is from settled part of non-zoomed trace using vertical cu...

Re: True RMS values

Hi, additional info was added by Gerry because I spotted some weird stuff and informed support. But something still seemed not right so I did some additional tests. Seems that this specific formula completely breaks some "inner workings". While investigating "building blocks" separately all is ok bu...

Grid is completely hidden behind wfms

Grid gets hidden behind wfms, not very noticeable in normal mode but in persistence its easy to get rid of the grid on large area. Some others draw grid on top the wfm, which is IMHO better approach with "DPO" style operation. Think should make this configurable. Examples attached.

Re: Analog Digital Analog converter with math channels

New improved ADAC and test pattern generators for Arduino Uno & Due: Arduino Uno ADC: A5 => 8bits on PORTD pins, ~59kSa/s. Processing delay ~21us. LowPass((128*D7+64*D6+32*D5+16*D4+8*D3+4*D2+2*D1+1*D0)/256/0.996,15000)*4.8 Arduino Uno 8x8bit 2398Hz "sine wave" on PORTD pins. LowPass((128*D7+64*D6+32...

Analog Digital Analog converter with math channels

Since many of the MSO digital channels are often unused it is possible to construct math channel based ADAC and gain additional analog channel(s). Results will depend on external hardware. Simple and precise power supply measurements could be done even with Arduino Uno. Using 2205 MSO I have done fo...

Re: Integral, time, complex formula issues.

Hi again, just discovered that last stuff I posted was already gotten a ticket #TS00079098 by e-mail discussion. Had not noticed reply e-mail somehow... I was asked several questions in e-mail and just sent reply with explanations why is it so I want time-skew math feature with at least 1 picosecond...

Re: Integral, time, complex formula issues.

What is the purpose of these calculations ? What are you trying to determine from the data ? Purpose is functional testing of the scope. Reversing the operation is very good for that. Before processing real data and drawing (sometimes very important) conclusions these kinds of tests are essential. ...

Integral, time, complex formula issues.

Hello! Scope fails integral(derivative(A)) math test. Started investigating, in the process did find out: - derivative goes off the scale at the start of capture - derivative autoranging does not work - tried to solve with time skew, discovered that: -- A[0.00000005] works -- A[50n] does not give er...
