Re: Software for Mac

Hi, It's easy for you to criticise what you are blissfully unaware of, so let me just explain some harsh realities to you. In PicoScope 6, we have a large complex piece of software that has many minor errors, which is true of all software (including OS X, Windows, Google, and pretty much every piece...

Re: Current Measurement AC/DC

Hi chazsolar,

OK, How many channels of data would you be expecting to log at once, and how detailed do you need the measurements to be (to how many decimal places)?

Re: C++ SDK Application Detect Time Delta

Hi Mmm22, There are models with Time Stamping (specifically our 6000E series, which gives the date and time to one-second resolution), but it isn't possible to perform Time Stamping by data processing because you have no record of the absolute time the data was captured. You can perform 'Trigger' Ti...

Re: Type C High temperature thermocouples

Hi Laurence, The TC-08 is the best data logger for thermocouples because it includes high sensitivity differential amplification (essential for low level noisy theromcouples) and Cold Junction Compensation (also essential). It's our software that does the converting of the raw data, which you can do...

Re: Change Export Cell/Row

Hi corradolvr

There is no way to do this in PicoScope 6 or PicoLog 6, but, what would be the problem in changing the column references in your Macro (or worst case the underlying VBA code)?

Re: Data Filing Time 5244D

Hi Sconlon, Could you explain what you mean by 'data filing', i.e. (a) do you mean the collection of data by acquisition from the PicoScope hardware (because that is not saved to a file it is purely held in memory)? (b) do you mean manually saving the file to a psdata or other file format on a hard ...

Re: ps6 / sdk : offset differs

Hi bonelli, There is no auto-calibration performed by ps6 (not possible without shorting the input), however you can perform a manual one using the 'zero all ranges' function in the Channel Options for an input channel, which requires you to physically short the channel input. In fact, when running ...

Hi bonelli,

Is this running your application or the application code that comes with the SDK?

Re: Picolog 1012 resolution

Hi titimar16, When working with the SDK, the size of the data is always a number of bits larger than we quote in the specifications. This is because the extra bits are used during the initial Test and Calibration of the device. The actual number of bits available to the user for measurement are as s...

Re: Current Measurement AC/DC

Hi chazsolar,

The answer to your question completely depends upon what it is that you are trying to achieve. So could you explain, in detail what you want do with the device?

Re: Welcome everyone

Hi Bhushan147,

This forum is focused more on Test and Measurement.

I would suggest posting your comment on our Automotive Picotech forum here: https://www.picoauto.com/support/, where your likely to get a more relevant response.

Re: detecting corrupt psdata files

Hi Maxwell, 1/ What exactly do you mean by "psdata GUI"? Is this an application developed using (a) the Pico Technology Software Development Kit, (b) The Pico Technology Command Line Interface, (c) both, or (d) your own software tools? 2/ What exactly do you mean by "converting a batch of psdata fil...

Re: Fractional harmonics?

Hi Erick, A huge amount depends upon the detail that you're not telling us. 1/ When you say that you're "driving a source and measuring the frequency response", exactly what do you mean? I'm familiar with (a) a signal source being used to drive the input of a Device Under Test, and then the output o...

Re: Slow triggering/slow sample rate override

Hi pselvey, Recently, I have seen instances of what you are describing, on occasions. I am looking into this regarding a bug fix request. In the meantime, a temporary workaround that resolves it for me is, temporarily switching to a fast Timebase value (i.e. switching to Fast Sample Mode from Slow S...

Re: Setting sampling frequency in PicoScope 5442D

Hi Vincenzo, It is possible to lower the data rate in your code. For Streaming Mode, the USB 3 transfer rate for PicoScopes entirely depends upon the rate that you are sampling the data. There is a practical Maximum of 125MS/s for 8-bit, or 62.5 MS/s for 12 to 16 bit modes, in order to be able to gu...
