Re: TC08 and druck pressure transmitter

Hi, With the new data for the pressure sensors I can amend my previous instructions to suit:- If you are using the PTX1400 sensor which is a two pin, 4-20mA device, then you need the following connections and settings:- A power supply for the sensor of at least +15V DC & up to +28V DC. Connect the +...

Re: Piscoscope 2202 - differential voltage measurement

Hi, Any of our two channel scopes can be used in the same way as shown in the YouTube video. Instead of selecting "Add Channels" & "Invert channel B" you can use the "Tools", "Channel Maths" function. Simply select "A-B" as your maths channel and a differential measurement of channels A & B will be ...

Re: Picolog doesn't find 3224 USB Scope

Hi, The PicoLog program is rather old now and was intended only for data loggers and our early scopes with little memory. Most of it's functions can be carried out using our current PicoScope6 program. PicoLog is supplied on the CD only because some early scopes are still being sold which can use ei...

Re: max input vltage

Hi, I must make this very clear, it is very dangerous to attempt to measure the AC mains voltage directly using the standard x1/x10 probes. Firstly, the ground lead of the probe is directly connected, through the probe, scope & USB lead, to the chassis of your laptop or PC. A desktop PC or a laptop ...

Re: TC08 and druck pressure transmitter

Hi, Firstly, we need to positively identify the operating pressure range of the sensor. Is it "Relative" or "Absolute" pressure and what is the full scale? For example:- Relative pressure sensor would be:- 0 mbar at ambient pressure -1000 mbar at full vacuum Absolute pressure sensor would be:- 0 mba...

Re: Picoscope 2204 & circuits switching inductive loads

Hi Mike,
In that case, make sure that you use them in the x10 setting. For best results, also trim them for HF response:-

Re: Picoscope 2204 & circuits switching inductive loads

Hi Mike, While the protective diodes may well protect the scope that cannot be guaranteed in all conditions. To be safe, you really need to use x10 probes to connect to the motor. You can use the standard MI007 x1/x10 probe that we sell for the 2204:- http://accessories.picotech.com/passive-oscillos...

Re: NOOB trying to use ADC-24 and terminal board

Hi Kassu, To start with, your resistor values are far too low, you are loading the sensor outputs too much. Instead of using 22 ohm resistors, use values of 10,000 ohms for each. That will still give you 2:1 attenuation without drawing a lot of current from the sensor output. The multiple AG (Analog...

Re: TC-08 Ambient Temperature Error

Hi, The cold junction compensation in the TC-08 comprises a precision thermistor situated inside the case, in the area of the 8 input connectors. This attempts to measure the ambient temperature of the connectors. If the temperature is changing rapidly or the unit is in a draught, the thermistor may...

Re: TC-08 ground loops?

Hi Andre, There is provision on the USB TC-08 PCB for the addition of a PCB mount 4mm socket which can be accessed from the outside by drilling a 4mm hole in the case next to the USB socket. That might help you with the grounding as it connects directly to the ground-plane of the TC-08. Regards, Pet...

Re: How does AC coupling work? 3206

Hi Paul, I am afraid that your circuit leaves out the effect of some capacitors present but not shown. There is a 4pF variable capacitor present in the 10:1 probe, parallel with the 9M ohm resistor. There is also a capacitance of about 12pF in parallel with the input 1M ohm to ground of the scope. T...

Re: water quality monitoring project

Hi Zain, The only one of the sensors you want, that we sell with the DrDaq, is the pH sensor. The others we do not have and you will need to source yourself. They should work if they have 0 to +2.5V or +5V outputs (or even 4-20mA outputs). The DrDaq needs to be connected at all times to a PC running...

Re: PicoScope 3423 USB 2.0 connection problem

Hi, This message you get can be ignored. It is a legacy from the past. Our older scopes used to initialise first at USB 1.1 speeds and then. if available, at USB 2.0. The message was generated automatically by Windows during this process. Later scopes connect directly at USB 2.0 and the message is n...

Re: noise when use x100 probe with picoscope 4227

Hi, It is impossible for us to duplicate your set-up but my guess is that the problem is caused by the rather old Gould probe being designed for a scope with much higher input capacitance (30pF) whereas the 4227 has about 15pF input capacitance. Is there a trim available on the x100 probe?. Apart fr...
