Re: Serial decoding MODBUS RTU Frame start/end time

Hi _Wim_, I take your point, but the problem is not necessarily with the Time-Base. It could be that the time base is long enough, but the trigger is positioned so that not enough data is being captured to represent a complete inter-frame delay. So, perhaps just "Not enough data for Inter-frame dela...

Re: Serial decoding MODBUS RTU Frame start/end time

Hi _Wim_ , I'm sorry that you had to waste that much time looking for the problem, and I understand your frustration. Without knowing the algorithm used to perform the decoding it's easy to specify what we would like to see, but not necessarily easy to implement at the time of the function creation ...

Re: Speedometer Setup

Hi Mihai, The waveform buffer is a separate entity to the sample buffer, and the sizes are under the Arbitrary Waveform Generator section of the specifications for the PicoScopes. You need to scroll down quite far to get to them. Regarding Instrumentation amplifiers, we don't have a specific one tha...

Re: Speedometer Setup

Hi mihai.albert, First of all, what is responsible for the pulse timing? Do you define the pulse width and send that as a value, or do you send the voltage values only, and therefore send a change in voltage when you want to create a pulse edge (in which case the pulse width is determined coarsely b...

Re: Hello from New Zealand

Hi Pete, We could certainly help you with your search as we have a range of high quality, extremely versatile, cost-effective PicoScopes that cover a huge range of applications. They are extremely versatile partly because of the post processing features, including some that are notably unique, (e.g....

Re: Serial decoding MODBUS RTU Frame start/end time

Hi Peter, Actually the "0"="ON" (VA > VB) and "1"="OFF" (VA < VB) part of the spec is only confusing for newbies to serial comms, as it also applies to single ended RS-232, and common UART's which are much more accessible from a technical point of view (much more ubiquitous and an elementary piece o...

Re: Serial decoding MODBUS RTU Frame start/end time

Hi Peter, I see what you're referring to and was under the impression that manufacturers correctly just arbitrarily label the polarity of their terminals (which unfortunately they do..... incorrectly). In actual fact, according to the RS485 standard, when labelling the two terminals of a differentia...

Re: Serial decoding MODBUS RTU Frame start/end time

Hi Vdhproducts67, If by your 1st question you mean "why do I have to reverse my signals going to channels A and B in order to get valid decoded data", then the answer is that you just have to make sure that Channel A is +ve going and Channel B is -ve going because, as you can see in the serial decod...

Re: CAN decoder not decoding when saved with decoded CAN

Hi bennog,

What version of the Beta are you running? I can't get it to 'wait for data' in version 6.13.2.3439 (with or without a scope attached).

Have you tried a different computer (in case there is a resource issue)?

Regards,

Re: measuring ultrasound signals, 20kHz-1Mhz

Hi peeters, The PicoScope 5244B doesn't have an IEPE interface (it's only the 4224IEPE model that has it), so if you're constructing the transducer and it's piezo-electric, you will need to implement you're own voltage supply for amplification. Also, if your transducer is Piezo-Electric you could st...

Re: Datalogging in an optics lab

Hi Dennis, To answer your questions, there is no sample rate for any of our data loggers that is independent of the number of channels used. Our data loggers only have one converter (ADC) that is shared among channels, which means that every doubling of channels used, halves the sample rate. So, for...

Hi Tiffas, Could you recreate the problem, close PicoScope 6, and then email a trace.xml file to us at support@picotech.com (the trace.xml canbe found in \Users\\AppData\Local\Pico Technology\64XXXXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXXXXXXXX and the last trace file will...

Hi mikaellindgren,

What do you mean by 'range' setting (which Range?), and by 'read out' do you mean display, print or save to a file?

Re: CAN decoder not decoding when saved with decoded CAN

Hi bennog, I've tried your data file in a PicoScope 4424, PicoScopes at the top and bottom of our range of products, and even in a 2204A (which doesn't have enough buffer space for all of the data) but can't reproduce what you are seeing, as it always loads OK. Could you post a full screen shot show...

Hi R_v_x, OK, just in the interest of preventing you from getting any unsafe advice, first of all, I would hope that your school/college has you working with suitably safe apparatus, in terms of potential hazards (i.e. that the transformer connections, the ones you will make, and the circuitry aroun...
