Re: Picoscope not delivering to specification??

How Can I access the rest of the memory ? :?: Change to a slower timebase. Or increase the sample rate. At 20 ms/div, that's 1/5 sec full screen. At 25 MS/s, that's 5 MS, exactly what you are seeing. (Oh, and ms is milliseconds, and MS is mega-samples. Also "a 5443A it is specified as having 64ms, ...

Re: Time offset?

Good point about the 9000-series, Martyn. Thanks for that. That's way outside my pay-grade, so I've never paid much attention to it. :) I was just looking for anything sub-nanosecond. Very interesting that a Maths channel can offset time, and not just an amplitude value. Certainly very flexible! But...

Re: Time offset?

Well, to be fair, and having given it more thought, perhaps it's not quite as important as I've made it out to be. Most ranges of PicoScopes don't sample beyond 1 GSa/sec, which is 1 ns per sample. You'd need ~25 cm of lead-length difference to shift things by one sample interval. Which you could co...

Re: Time offset?

You can't do it with channels but you can with reference waveforms. It's unfortunate, but it seems like the deeper I look into the Picoscope capabilities, the more limitations I uncover. This capability is completely routine, even on the cheapest of standalone DSOs, where it is commonly refe...

Re: Rapid Trigger Mode--Questions

Thanks very much, Martyn. That is a good explanation. Definitely worthy of inclusion in a future update of the documentation. I'm glad to hear RTM is usable as low as 1ms/div. "only on the fastest timebases" was suggestive of being a significantly higher rate. And thus more restrictive. But i...

Re: PicoScope 6.11.4 Beta

I haven't had any time to test the Beta yet myself, but I have looked at the Examples, and they are also obviously incorrect. (When I first saw them, I thought they were just "faked".) Why do I say that? Because many of the ID fields depicted have values such as Ax xx xx xx, and 9x xx xx xx. Which w...

Rapid Trigger Mode--Questions

The PS6 manual has a side note that RTM is only usable "on the fastest timebases". But says nothing about what those limitations are. This degree of vagueness is more than a little confusing. Especially for a powerful function in an engineering tool. Would it be possible to clarify a bit just what t...

Re: Suitable for zoom in continuous mode?

Other than the 4 channels, relatively deeper memory and the USB 3.0 connection, the other advantage of the PicoScope 3403D is that it has an external trigger input. Right. But worth noting that the Ext Trig goes away on the 3403D MSO version. And the "relatively deeper memory" is irrelevant in cont...

BTW, how many years do I need to have been a member here, or how many posts, before I no longer have to wait days for my comments to go through a Moderator? (Notwithstanding the fact that no matter how many Posts I contribute here, my count always remains at 0.) Just a wee bit annoying. Thanks, - Mark

Re: New feature idea: triggering on serial decoded bytes

p8062001, Is this feature integrate in the current version of March 2015 ? No, that was requested only 3 years ago. The Dev Team hasn't gotten around to it yet. ;) But to be fair, it should be noted that the hardware has no capability to do what was requested. I.e., it simply can't trigger on decode...

Re: Gap in continuous data

Martyn, We are looking at increasing some of the performance limits in the software, possibly through a user option, to reflect the increased capabilities of modern PC's, and the increasing use of USB3 in our devices. That would be very wise, and much appreciated. These limits were in place to allow...
