Re: Memory and USB speed confusion

Do you have examples of other brands.
I have not seen many others with that amount of sample memory.

Re: Memory and USB speed confusion

What sample rate have you in mind for your needs ? If I read your question right you need a MSO, I advice 4 analog channel + 16 digital channel. 3403D MSO USB3 (17 MS streaming PS) 125 MS SDK Be aware that when using the SDK there is now way you can view the dat in picoscope software or use serial d...

Re: Memory and USB speed confusion

on the GitHub examples are streaming and blok examples for a lot of different languages.

https://github.com/picotech

P.S. If I where you I would stay away from the scopes with less than 32MS sample memory, but of cource I can not see in your financial situation.

Re: Memory and USB speed confusion

The scope has 2 modes of operation 1. block mode. All data is captured in the internal memory of the scope and transferred to the pc after the capture is finished. In this case you are always limited to the amount of sample memory in the scope divided by the number of channels. By doing it this way ...

This scope will do for what you want.

I suppose you know "adrian's digital basement" on youtube he has a ton of C64 repair videos.

Re: Pulse width triggering using V2 advanced trigger functions

Have you tried to do this in picoscope software.
And get a working trigger ?

Then post a psdata file with the working trigger and some data.

That is far easier than looking at code and guess what you want trigger on.

Re: Triggering pulses to find the pulse width and mean amplitude..

in streaming mode with the SDK you need to do everything yourselves (so look at every ADC value that comes from the scope and see if it is above or below your threshold 12V and then sum all the values that are above 12V until it falls below 12V then divide the sum by number of samples that are above...

Re: Windows USB event logging and Picoscope 7 reliability ?

I have had some issues with my 4444 most times it was solved by shorter USB cables or adding the external power supply. Only 1 time I can remember that I needed to use a 3404D-MSO because it kept stopping. This was in an industrial environment with a windows 11 laptop. I most times use the scopes in...

Re: Triggering pulses to find the pulse width and mean amplitude..

My guess is that you need to use streaming mode (the scope is not able to transmit a complete waveform in 5 ms) Also after a trigger you want some extra samples at least the width of the widest possible pulse. In this time a small pulse with a short pause can occur, so you have 2 pulses in a single ...

Re: Will Picoscope answer my need

In the picoscope software the total number of samples is limited to 250MSamples. So if you use 8 channels you only can capture 32MSamples. Also in picoscope software you do this with 2000 s/div (=20000 sec = 5,5 hour) or at 5000 s/div is (=50000 sec = 13,8 hour) However if you use the SDK your only ...

Re: Triggering pulses to find the pulse width and mean amplitude..

Can you be more specific.

a. the frequency the pulses occurs
b. the shortest time between 2 successive pulses.
c. the sample rate you want to sample the events. (samples / second)

Re: Will Picoscope answer my need

The number of samples is no problem. do you want the 24V signals digital (1 and 0) so 24V and 0V Or do you want them analog so if a dip of 5 V occurs you have it also ? if 1 is yes any scope with DSO if 2 is yes the 4824A is your only option (this is the only 8 ch scope) P.S. Dso needs divider becau...

Re: Phase continuity AWG of Picoscope 2205

Upgrading is always a good idea I have a 3404D-MSO and a 4444 over here. The build in function generator is rather limited (max 4V top-top output unloaded 2V top-top 50 ohm) I have a JDS6600 (search the interweb for about 100 euro). Below 2 scans of the JDS6600 (20V top-top) and the bottom one the 3...

Re: Output waveform

The scope can not put out a higher voltage.
Then you need to amplify.
Or use an external generator.
I use the following external generator
https://aliexpress.com/item/1005004050858944.html
It can go up to 20V top top.
