Re: Downsampling

The results you are getting from the API make sense to me. It is a form of downsampling, so per the documentation it is expected to be 625 / 16 = ~39 samples. I think the confusion (and apparently it's not uncommon) is that the PicoScope App is implementing a rolling average for the resolution enhan...

Re: Frequency Response Analyzer with Bode Plots

Mitch, I've been trying to do some detective work on the time domain plots. In short, I've been able to replicate the time-scale problem when I'm in high noise mode on my PS5444A. There is probably a bug there that I'll need to track down. There are other hints that these plots were taken in high no...

Re: Frequency Response Analyzer with Bode Plots

Hi Aaron, Those files I found in the FRA4PicoScope/diag folder, and I copied the names from the svg files over to the png's. Note this was made from 1 run as I never ran that before, and I see all the timestamps were at the same time. That sweep was from 10Hz to 500Hz if I recall correctly with 10 ...

Re: Frequency Response Analyzer with Bode Plots

The other weird thing here is that the gain calculation in the top plot should be about -40 dB. I dont see any data point in the Bode plots that matches that. I should warn you that the diagnostic plots are not expunged each run, so you may need to be careful not to grab one from an older run.

Re: Frequency Response Analyzer with Bode Plots

Hey Mitch, thanks a ton for posting these! Seeing the time domain plots reminds me that I should put more info on the plots for context, but I should be able to deduce what they are. When I started to look at them it generated some questions. First, can you tell me the actual names of the PNG files ...

Re: Frequency Response Analyzer with Bode Plots

Mitch, On closer inspection, I noticed that the second plot is in high noise mode with the noisy output you explained. It might be a good idea for us to take a look at the time domain diagnostic plots. It's another setting in the XML file. While they will look noisy, the plots also record the SNR. S...

Re: Frequency Response Analyzer with Bode Plots

Hi Mitch, Thank you for posting the results of your PFC converter. I would like to help you get better results. But I will apologize in advance since it's possible some of my answers may not necessarily be applicable to your converter. I don't know much about PFC converters. 1) Low noise mode is not...

Re: Frequency Response Analyzer with Bode Plots

Does it work if you plug in the AC adapter? Hello, yes with aux 5V is it working, but 5244B is supplied without 5V adapter because USB power is enough for 2 CH scope. Is it possible to avoid this by modification of FRA? Ahhh. Thats interesting. I missed the fact that this is a 2 channel scope. But ...

Re: Plot libraries

I apologize if this is off-base, because I'm not sure where your bottlenecks really are so ... Since your talking about decimation, did you know that the kind of downsamipling (min, max point calculation) you're referring to is available in many SDK drivers (including PS4000) and the process is perfo...

Re: Frequency Response Analyzer with Bode Plots

Hello, with version 0.5.3b and the 5244B on double-head USB cable i got following error: Error: Unable to initialize device with serial number CZ108/032 Hello and thank your for taking the time to report. I'm not certain, but I assume this is because the driver reports that the power supply is not ...

Re: Frequency Response Analyzer with Bode Plots

Thank you hexamer for your answer! Those results look great! Because I'm quite new to this topic I wanted to ask you, if the impedance of your injection transformer VB-1BB with 75 Ohms is no problem, because all the signal generators and oscilloscopes have 50 Ohm outputs/inputs? Is there a need of ...

Re: Frequency Response Analyzer with Bode Plots

Hello Aaron, thanks for your support. Yes, I have an other scope, a Hantek DSO5102B 100MHz. And I cannot find a signal at the AWG Port. When I use the picoscope software, the AWG works, can see it by the picoscope and by the Hantek. If I test a simple RC filter, the plot result is only a chaos sign...

Re: Scope acquisition then FFT

Thanks you for your answer, It works very good but I want to know if I can change the frequency range ? I just want to see the spectrum between 0 and 40 Hz but I don't know how to do it :( Thanks guys :D If you just want to see that range of the existing plot, you can zoom in to that range. If you ...
