It is not possible to develop applications for the Automotive PicoScope 3423, you can however write your own applications for the PicoScope 3424. The 3424 is very similar to the 3423 with the main difference being that the 3424 does not have the +/-50V range.

You can use a long USB cable or Parallel cable (depending on what scope you have) to keep the laptop away from the vehicle. It should be ok to use something like 5 metre cables.

Thank you for your enquiry. Any of our parallel port scopes should be able to capture an 890uS pulse. The slowest one is the ADC-11 with a max sampling rate of 10ksps, thats a sample every 100uS.
