Re: ADC-24 w reference electrode

Hi, To read pH, you require a specialist logger with a very high input impedance. The ADC-24 is just 1 Megohm in single ended mode (2 Megohm in differential mode). Our only logger suitable for the measurement of pH is the DrDaq pH measuring kit:- http://www.drdaq.com/USB-DrDAQ-Data-Logger.pdf?source...

Re: ADC-24 w reference electrode

Hi, Can you help me by telling me the approximate output impedance of the electrodes you use? If it is anywhere near the input impedance of the ADC-24, then readings could easily be distorted. How do you connect the ground terminals of the reference electrode and measuring electrodes? What voltage l...

Re: ADC-212

Hi, I think you were actually using the automotive version of PicoScope6, which will run on the ADC-212. It is available here:- http://www.picoauto.com/download.html?soft=psa6&type=rc&wunderfaktor=82PPWUoLpz2bU&join=on&email=&x=87&y=15 (No other parallel port scopes will work with it though.) Regard...

Re: Measuring voltages using external sensor port

Hi Kex, Assuming you are using a USB DrDaq:- You must have one of the fixed resistors fitted between pins 2 & 3 to tell the DrDaq which scaling to use. The scaling is defined by a "Scaling.dds" file which you must generate and put in the root directory of PicoLog. I attach an example file "Ext Volts...

Re: Trigger of events

Hi Margaux, You will need to save data to the hard drive. You can now save a timed file to hard drive in the event of a "Capture" (single screen of data) or "Buffers Full" (multiple screens of data) in PicoScope6. Select "Tools" then "Alarms". For "Event" select "Capture" or "Buffers Full". Now sele...

Re: Input Protection between overload and Max

Hi Tom, For safety, when measuring high voltages we would always recommend our active differential probes. If you must use a passive x100 probe make sure that you leave the scope set at DC input (the default setting) if there is DC present greater than the voltage rating of the scope. By starting wi...

Re: About amplifying 3204B AWG signal

Hi,
For something cheap you will need to build your own (as always!). For a high power unit, I only have a link to one that I know of:-

Re: TC-08 - Voltage and Temperature

Hi Michael, The TC-08 inputs are safe from damage up to +/-30V but will not take correct measurements if the Common Mode voltage applied is greater than about +/-5V on any channel or the differential voltage is greater than 70mV. The "Single Channel Terminal Board", when set to 4-20mA input, puts a ...

Re: ADC-20 problems with high impedance signals

Hi, The ADC-20 is a single converter with an 8 way multiplexer front-end, hence the sample rate is divided by the number of channels used. This sounds like you are exceeding the "Common Mode" voltage rating at the inputs which will give strange results on all channels. Nothing to do with the actual ...

Re: TC-08 Auto logging on computer start up

Hi, I attach a (zipped-up) short-cut which will start up PicoLog and set it recording using a settings file called Settings.pls. Please place the short-cut in the Windows start-up folder "C:\Documents and Settings\[your user name]\Start Menu\Programs\Startup". Place your settings file in "C:\Program...

Re: Installing PicoFull R5_21_2 on Win7 32bit

Hi Geoff, "Roll-Back" indicates some very basic incompatibility between the Pico Program and your version of Windows or your hardware. Sometimes that is difficult to track down. As a long-shot, please check that you do not have a missing "Tahoma" font, that caused problems for me once before. (Tahom...

Re: Installing PicoFull R5_21_2 on Win7 32bit

Hi Geoff,
Please try installing Pico_Full with the parallel card removed from your PC. If the installation completes you can then put the parallel card back in and all should work. A "Roll-Back" on installation is frequently caused by the presence of a parallel card.

PeterF.
