Hi, You should be able to get a good frequency reading out of an ADC-40 in these circumstances. You will need to display at least 3 cycles of the pickup output at the lowest frequency you need to measure. Goto Settings\Measurements. In the measurements list go to Add. In the measurement details, sel...

Hi John, Unfortunately you appear to have overwritten a large data file with a small, empty one of the same name. The new file only contains setup info, no data. It would be very difficult to recover anything of the old file in this case, because of the over-writing. It is always best to make copy o...

Hello Dr Sanghvi,

The 2202 kit has, in addition to the 2202 unit, a hard carry case, two x10/x1 60MHz probes & a USB lead. Very good value for an extra £8.
To ask for any educational discount, you would need to talk to Sales dept direct.

Hi,
The Ext trigger input also doubles-up as a Signal Generator output. It can output a 0V to +5V square wave from 5Hz to 125 KHz with an output impedance of 1Kohm.

Hi Jiri, The advanced triggering of the new release of PicoScope6 (out soon) will be able to trigger on pulse width (as well as on other conditions). As yet, it will not be able to fill the entire memory in the way you require. You ask for 1.2 seconds at 100MS/sec, ie: 120Msamples, nearly the entire...

Hi,
Yes, you are absolutely right! There is no way to compensate for random junctions like that. The correct metals must be used or as soon as there is a temperature differential between the junctions, error voltages are generated.

Hi,
If you are getting a continuous reading of over-voltage when no input is connected, it sounds very much like a hardware fault. When did it go wrong? Was it working before an upgrade? What did you last measure?

Hi, A lot will depend on whether you wish to use the probes only once and leave them in the concrete or have them inside a metal sheath which can be withdrawn after the concrete has set (is that possible?). Best people to advise you is the company that makes up our probes, link below:- http://www.k-...

Hi, The type of cable to use has little effect as long as it is co-axial (screened) and makes a good connection to the BNC connectors. You can use any BNC Male to Female extension lead or a Male to Male lead & coupler. The signal is not high frequency but it is of low amplitude so a screned lead is ...

Hi,
It seems you are getting a bit of cross-talk between channels. What is the ratio between the actual temp rise on chan-8 and the change in chan-1?

Hi,

The infra-red thermometer is not one of our products, so I can't tell you much about it. I would imagine that, within limits, it detects the hottest thing in it's capture area. Best to ask the manufacturer.

Hi, I am having no problem running an ADC-212/100 via our USB-LPT converter, here on the helpdesk. I am using XP Sp2. We have this morning just released a new update to the PicoScope & PicoLog software with numerous bugfixes. (R5.17.1). I suggest you download that and see if that helps your case. Bo...

Hi, This is a difficult one. You cannot use any sensor which contacts the wire as that would cool it down. First thought would be to try a non-contact infra-red sensing thermometer. http://www.k-instruments.co.uk/acatalog/temperature_monitoring.html Only other way I can think of is to very accuratel...

Hi, We can't help with the display unit but it should not be necessary if you use either PicoScope or PicoLog. Either can give you an instantaneous display of the applied force. The first step is to ensure the load cell can output sufficient voltage to be resolved adequately by whichever Pico hardwa...
