Re: Testing Picolog 6.1.2

I have now tested with a 1012 Data Logger. After several tests I was unable to experience the "dirty graph" phenomenon, so this seems to be peculiar to the USB DrDAQ. I also verified that the problem with the "meaningless" figures obained when converting the CSV files with the standard Excel procedu...

Re: TC-08 Detecting a mains On

With regards to the observations of sbabic 44, my final comments are as follows. Let us not carry this too far...One thing is to assemble one diode and one capacitor to the terminals of a small AC transformer, another to design the artwork for a PCB and obtain a one off PCB specimen. Of course a box...

Re: TC-08 Detecting a mains On

Hi pnb, I do not wish to impose my ideas, but only to better express myself in case I had not been clear before. The value of an add-on mains presence detection system should be in the maximum practicality coupled with the least cost, ease of implementation and maximum reliability, as well as safety ...

Re: Testing Picolog 6.1.2

Hi Hitesh, If you set the system up in "return units" with Ohm and the Ohm symbol, the graph stays with KOhm, as shown in my previous post. If instead you set the system up as "Custom", as you did, then the display in the graph is OK, as shown in the attached Jpeg. It seems that the "Ohm" post in "r...

Re: Testing Picolog 6.1.2

Hi Hitesh, I enclose two screens: one for the set up of the resistance and the other for the resulting graph which still shows the KOhm display & values. Another very inconvenient feature is that you have no control on Y axis ranges. In my (Italian) system (Windows 7 PRO) the comma is used for decim...

Re: Testing Picolog 6.1.2

Strange phenomenon on the display happens....

From time to time the graph display becomes "dirty". I am enclosing two screens, one showing the dirty graph and the other the normal, clean graph.

Re: Testing Picolog 6.1.2

It seems to me that the numerical data list cannot be seen while DA is in progress, but can recovered only afterwards as CSV export. With EXCEL and its comma separation procedure you end up with numbers with a large amount of (meaningless?) digits while the time data is recorded only as a numerical ...

Re: Testing Picolog 6.1.2

First bug found....using the USB DrDAQ 1. Connect a 1.2 KOhm resistor to the DrDAQ terminals, between R & ground. 2. Enable the R channel. 3.Insert the equation: R(KOhm) * 1000 4. Set the output as "Ohm". Output channel display does not change, e.g. still shows 1.2 KOhm, while it should show 1200 Ohm.

Re: TC-08 Detecting a mains On

Your scheme will work fine, save for the cell finite lifetime. Perhaps it could be simpler to connect a 50 KOhm resistor (drawing 4 mA approx.) across the 220V mains and sense the resultant temperature change with another thermocouple tightly coupled to the resistor. You could then use the alarm on ...

Testing Picolog 6.1.2

I have just started testing the new Picolog 6.1. 2 i.e. the stable version and I could verify that the alarms set in the math channels now actuate the external outputs. The user interface has been redesigned and obviously differs from the previous version: for this reason an up to date USER GUIDE wo...

Re: New PicoLog 6 beta software available

Sorry to insist, but since Picolog is in the rebuild phase, I again suggest to include connection between the ALARMS of the MATH channels AND the HARD WIRED OUTPUTS!!

Re: thermocouple attachment to metal

Hi Technical manager, you mention you have to measure the temperature of elements (fuse blades, etc.) with thermocouples. Please consider that the thermocouple itself is a metal junction where two wires join and these wires go to the Picotech apparatus you are using. If you have voltages on the meta...

Re: Picoscope 2000 not recognized

I activated a scan with Microsoft Security Essentials and sure enough I found two viruses: SOFTWARE BUNDLER and RANSOM The purpose of the Ransom virus is to block your PC and/or data to make you pay a ransom. Even if you instantly switch the PC off and unplug the USB HD's/dongles, some files may be ...

Re: Picoscope 2000 not recognized

FALSE ALARM........................

I got suspicious and tried the Picoscope 2000 on another W7 PC: it worked PERFECTLY!!

I shall now investigate what got wrong with the other PC and report. Both PC's are IBM /LENOVO X61 laptops with W7 OS.

Picoscope 2000 not recognized

When plugging my Picoscope 2000 into the USB port of my PC, I get the message: "NO SUITABLE DEVICE FOUND" & "WOULD YOU LIKE TO USE A DEMO DEVICE?" replying "NO" the system starts looking for the Picoscope indefinitely and then crashes, so that I have to go to the W7 activity panel to turn Picolog of...
