Re: PicoScope 6 Crashes trigger

Could you send an email to support@picotech.com describing the steps you take to make the software crash. Also put the version you are using in the email.

Re: PicoScope 6 Crashes trigger

Do you mean 6.2.14.0? I don't believe we have released a 6.14... yet.

Re: Vrms

That formula is only true for a perfect sinewave. RMS is actually calculated by integrating to get the area under the signal (between the signal and zero) and then dividing by the time to get the average DC voltage corresponding to the same power (area). AC RMS is the same thing but the DC component...

Re: Sampling Rates - Confused Novice

The reason for a block mode is to get the sampling rate up above what can be transferred across the USB bus in realtime. If you look at our faster devices like the PS5000, it samples at 1GS/s. There is no way we can transfer that across the USB (480Mb/s = theoretical 60MB/s) which in real terms give...

Re: Will program written for 2203 run with other scopes?

Hi Andreas, It will not run with any other series because of the driver dlls. ps2000.dll works with 2000 series ps3000.dll works with 3000 series ps4000.dll works with 4000 series The APIs for the different series are similar but not identical. All the functions have the series as a prefix. Example:...

If you are sampling at the maximum sampling rate of some of our devices the samples for the different channels are not taken at the same time, they are taken sequentially. This could give the impression that the signals are not aligned. You could try swapping the channels around to prove that this i...

Hi Kenny, The delay is the time from the trigger point until the capture starts. If the delay is positive the trigger point will have past when the capture starts and will not be seen in the data. If the delay is negative the trigger point will be inside the capture. If the delay is 0% the whole cap...

Hi Chris, The functions used to setup the advanced triggering for the 3000 are unfortunately not described in the PS3000 manual. These functions are however the same as for the PS5000. They are described in the ps5000.en.pdf. The function prototypes should be available in the ps3000.h for you to con...

That there is no anti-aliasing filter is not entirely true. The analogue bandwidth of the device is less than your maximum sampling rate. So if you are sampling flat out on two channels the sampling rate is 80 MS/s and the -3 dB bandwidth is 20 MHz. However if you are sampling slower than 40 MS/s th...

Hi Doug,

The PL1000 might capture the data for you if it has enough channels.
You would have to write a small application to capture and convert the analogue data from the channels and write this to a file yourself.

The 2000 series are low memory scopes, I assume that the detail (sampling rate) you need, limits your time across the screen. This is a limitation of the hardware of your product. You can try playing with trigger delay to see the data behind each trigger point but you will still have missing data be...
