AC to constant with mso protocol?

Having used multimeters I took it for granted that there would be a way to plot the RMS value of a signal. I change my meter to AC and the cycling data becomes constant. I always figured that's what coupling would do on a scope. I finally took the time to learn and realize that is not what coupling ...

Synchronize sampling between scopes

Is it possible to get two scopes to synchronize when they each take their samples? Maybe by using ext? Or is ext just a dumbed down analog channel?

I've also learned that the 3000 series offers;

Can power externally and not through USB.
EXT trigger input.(non-MSO units)
Some MSO units have 4 channels.
