I continue to get successful triggers.

Have you tried using

"V - Set voltages"

to set an appropriate range for your signal before running the trigger command ?

No, the minimum frequency step for DrDaq is 1Hz.

If you use the beta version of Picoscope from http://labs.picotech.com/ it will update the firmware to support the new functionality.

Earlier versions of these scopes didn't have the frequency counter however the firmware can be upgraded to support this feature. It may be added to other scopes in the future although I have no timescales for this or details of which scopes will support it.
