there are a lot of them on the market, I bought one from Hama for approx. 20 €. Type 00200122, USB 2.0 HUb, 5V, 1200 mA. But any kind of powered USB hub should work. I tested it without the power adapter and it din´t work, as bevor. Plugging in the power adapter, everything fine.

Did you change the hardware? With my new laptop I had a similar problem, it was with the USB power. Connected to an active (powered) USB hub and everything works. Also on a USB 3.0 C-type plug, using an appropriate cable instead of the blue one.

Update: the HP laptop has USB 3.1 (not 3.0 as mentioned before). An additional test with another Windows 10 mini-pc (winver 20h2, same picoscope software) with USB 3.0 connections WORKED. Is there a USB 3.1 problem?
