Re: Meaure mains with PicoScope 2204

Perhaps you can build a differential to single ended converter with a 100:1 attenuation. The input resistors would have to be high enough in value to not overheat, and with adequate voltage rating. Multiple resistors in series may help. It depends on what exactly you want to measure from the mains. ...

Re: Rulers in Picoscope for Linux

Oh, I see, that little square box is a ruler. Obvious... not.

Re: Rulers in Picoscope for Linux

I'd like to use two time rulers, but how do I get any to appear in the first place?

Save a decoder

In Tools -> Serial decoding, I can create a customised Manchester decoder. But I don't see any way to save it - when I start the computer up again, I have to define the decoder anew. Surely there must be a way to save decoders?

Rulers in Picoscope for Linux

Do rulers work at all in the Linux version of Picoscope? I can't get any semblance of them working. Drag the mouse with the left or right button down: nothing happens. As far as I can see, that's what the docs tell us to do.

Re: Picoscope 2204A seen once under Ubuntu 18.04, doesn't work today

PicoTech replaced the 'scope FOC after declaring it uneconomic to repair. It was a bizarre fault; the USB Vendor ID had changed! Nobody knows how that's possible. USB was still basically working, as I could see output from it from lsusb -v. I've never known a fault anything like it in all my (many!)...

Re: Feedback wanted from our Linux users!

I noticed that there was an update of the Picoscope Linux app recently, and I've been using it today. I'm delighted to see that Manchester decoding has arrived! There is one oddity, though. "Save as" a JPEG, with a Manchester packet decoded on the screen and the 'scope Stopped, gave a JPEG with the ...

Re: Feedback wanted from our Linux users!

I'd like to see Manchester decoding for Linux. It's advertised for the Windows version but doesn't appear as a serial decode option in the Linux version.

Guess what I just bought the 2204A for? To work on an OpenTherm project, which uses Maanchester encoding.

Re: Picoscope 2204A seen once under Ubuntu 18.04, doesn't work today

More than 24 hours have elapsed, and there has been no reply to my support case other than a standard auto-acknowledgement. Further up this thread, you asked me to "email the details. and log files". This is too vague for me. Which details and log files do you want, and where will I find them? (Ubun...

Re: Open source drivers for 2000 series

I can understand why you might not want to open source your top level applications, e.g. Picoscope, as that would give any competitor a great gift. However, I really can't understand why releasing the USB API would harm your company in any way. I really can't. If someone wants to spend time and effo...

Re: Picoscope 2204A seen once under Ubuntu 18.04, doesn't work today

See original posting for connection details.

I've tried plugging it into another computer with a totally different OS, and the VID is still showing up as 0c01.

In all cases the original cable is the only one I've used.

Picoscope 2204A seen once under Ubuntu 18.04, doesn't work today

My Picoscope 2204A arrived on Saturday. I installed the software under Ubuntu 18.04 and everything worked. However, today when I run the software, it can't find the Picoscope and invites me to connect a demo device instead. lsusb shows a device 0c01:1007 with no text string against it, when the scop...
