Re: Open source drivers for 2000 series

Thank you very much for detailed information! While I understand Picotech position I know that using proprietary drivers lead sooner or later to debugging problems, problems with software being accepted into some linux distribution repositories and compatibility problems after driver upgrade (back c...

Open source drivers for 2000 series

I hope it's OK to ask that question: are there any open source drivers for 2000 series? I don't mind a limited functionality. Alternatively is there any available documentation that would help to create them?

Re: Picoscope Software doesn't work Ubuntu 18.04

OK, I'm not sure why, but on my system it's linked to library in /lib64. On your system it's linked to the file in the same directory. Check if you have that library somewhere else in the system. It's part of libgdiplus - if you don't have it installed - install it and try to use it (replace the lin...

Re: Picoscope Software doesn't work Ubuntu 18.04

1. Check if you have file: /opt/picomono/lib/libgdiplus.so 2. Check what are the file permissions. 3. On my system (non-ubuntu): $ ls -la /opt/picomono/lib/libgdiplus.so lrwxrwxrwx. 1 root root 22 11-17 09:42 /opt/picomono/lib/libgdiplus.so -> /lib64/libgdiplus.so.0 localhost:/home/przemo $ rpm -qf ...

Re: New Picoscope 2000 series owner

hey I just bought one too for the same purpose I was disappointed to find that the "automotive" software wont work on ours but luckily I have some scope experience so I think I will be alright :D You have to use a different approach. The 2000 series have common ground, so you can fry something easi...

Re: Driver and software Scientific linux 6.10

I just discovered the rpms with picoscope: http://labs.picotech.com/rpm
Potentially much easier to install than debs - I didn't test it yet.

Edit:
Installing all rpms from:
https://labs.picotech.com/rpm/x86_64/
and picoscope from:
https://labs.picotech.com/rpm/noarch/
works on fedora 31

Re: PicoScope on Kubuntu 19.10

Edit the picoscope start script last line to show all output & error messages and start it from terminal. That has helped me to nail down all problems that I had with starting picoscope on fedora. exec sg $PICO_GROUP -c "$RUN_CMD /opt/picoscope/lib/PicoScope.GTK.exe 2>&1 >/dev/null" 2>&1 >/dev/null ...

Re: Driver and software Scientific linux 6.10

OK, I don't have the instruction, but I can write one. If my instruction is not detailed enough please ask. I didn't test it on anything except my fedora 31. You'll need mono installed on your system (on fedora it's in mono-core package) 1. Download picoscope software and all driver files. All in de...

Picoscope freezes and comes back to life

Once in a while picoscope freezes and then comes back to life - is that "normal"? I use fedora, that is not officially supported.

Re: Driver and software Scientific linux 6.10

As far as I know no, but SL is based on RedHat? So that's that same as my Fedora. I can help you if you're willing to experiment a little bit.

Re: Fedora 31 - how to start

OK, I got the picoscope working. I had to put together some files manually, including picoscope.conf in /etc. Anyway, it can be done. The missing ps2000.dll is llibps2000.so

If someone needs the info quickly please post here. OtherwiseIi'll try to make an installation script in my free time.

Fedora 31 - how to start

What's the best way of getting PicoScope 2204A to work on fedora linux? I did some searching, but I don't see any "official" way. I managed to start Picoscope 6 using different tricks on fedora 31, but I failed to convince the software I have the hardware connected. I tried root account, I added cus...

New Picoscope 2000 series owner

I bought PicoScope 2204A and I'm looking forward to test it. It will be initially used as an automotive diagnostic tool :)
