Ongoing effort to remotely manage PS6 and PS4444

Hello again... after too much struggle we have again placed the PS4444 in a railside "cut station" which is a 2 hr minimum round trip from our offices and requires special access to enter. This is the same place our PS3425 has been working pretty reliably for months, using Google Synch to transfer c...

Re: PS6 6.13.15 can't save file

Same file name worked after a restart of the PC.

Re: PS6 6.13.15 can't save file

Even after a PS6 shutdown and restart, open file, try to immediately save the file: fails. Here is the XML for just that.

PS6 6.13.15 can't save file

Today a first: PS6 would not let me save a file after viewing it and setting cursors, offset, etc. I could save it with a different name. No other application was trying to access the .psdata file (which is not possible anyway; we don't have any other viewer than PS6 from PicoTech). XML file attache...

Can I not display some captured channels

At this moment I can't figure out how to turn off the display of a channel in Linux when displaying a captured file since the right click channels display popup is not available in Linux! But is is in Windows. I guess this is not possible in the Linux version: all captured channels must always be di...

Re: Feedback wanted from our Linux users!

Please! Windows forced scans, updates and reboots are a huge headache. They can only be held off a few days and it is a big problem for us in remote logging applications.

Re: How to add a view with only digital channels?

We do see the commercial opportunities, and are working towards feature parity between the Windows, Mac and Linux versions of the software. Is this still a priority? Windows forced updates and resets are a big negative and would be a huge plus for me with Linux, but we need the alarms and logging w...

Re: Win10 PS6 and PS4444 Zombie Lockups

Just got off chat with Teamviewer sales expert. The free demo does not support unattended remote end operation. The version we'd need is $600/year paid a year at a time, 15% discount possible.

Re: Win10 PS6 and PS4444 Zombie Lockups

Update: pulled the PS4444 out of the field. that means we lost our powered current probe TA300. So I bought a 1st gen (2 ranges) Fluke i2000 and am using it and monitoring battery life which looks to be in excess of 10 days (1.5 mA from a 9V battery), much better than the advertised 100 hours. Canno...

Re: Win10 PS6 and PS4444 Zombie Lockups

Right, well we have made them as similar as we can but they have different probes. And we want to use the larger sample memory of the PS4444. In any case the application should not just fail. I pulled the PS4444 out of the field site since it wasn't working there anyway. Now I just need some time to...

Re: Win10 PS6 and PS4444 Zombie Lockups

File lock clashing could explain GUI becoming unresponsive and in a zombie state? Also while I am there I can manually trigger 30-40 MB captures, they synch fine. Also one day I had the trigger set too sensitive. Each train passing would trigger five captures, that was 400 in one day. They all came ...

Re: Win10 PS6 and PS4444 Zombie Lockups

@bennog We have 4GLTE via modem. I am not familiar with Teamviewer. I am familiar with join.me... We just want to get captured files. This is a metered data connection so how would sending screens across the data connection help? You are saying instead of pushing the data, just save it locally and t...

Re: How to make custom file name for alarm save current buffer

Thanks... that's the menu I remember from a couple of months ago. I could not get to that last night when I tried to edit the capture options. Today I am going to pull the PS4444 out of the field site and bring it back to our office where we can have better access to it and set up a test which is mo...

How to make custom file name for alarm save current buffer

Hi, I read the User Guide and Training Manual and tried to make a file name such as CS1817_PS4444_%time%_%buffer% but the file name gets ignored and is always something like 20190205-0001 (551).psdata

I thought I had a couple of months ago managed to have some control over this but not now.
