You could use a signal gen as a power source but it is not wise to do so... usually the can't handle any power if your luky the are short circuit protected, but if you overdraw a signal gen the wavefor distorts and it doesn't look like it should on its output just don't do it and buy a used lab powe...

Thank you for your fast reply to my question! I had a look at the PicoScope 4444, the specification says 12bit on the 10mV/div range. As most industrial straingauges are 1mV/V, and 2,5V/5V/10V excitation as standard, i can get only 10mV as output voltage while applying maximum load. Now if i put 1,1...

PicoScope for Straingauge sniffing :-P

Dear PicoScope Users/Support, does any one use a picoscope for strain gauge experimenting? The input voltage/sensitivity is usally very important.. i know i wont get 1uV measured but 1mv/div to 10mV/div should be possible even with a very slow rise time...which means i need lots of memmory? Any advi...
