Re: PicoScope 6 crashes at startup

Warning though!! Even though the upgrade to SP3 seems to have sorted my Picoscope, the upgrade did mess up my internet connection via the ADSL modem. Searches on the net revealed that others had the same problem and most suggest reverting back to SP2. Not that I'm an IT fundi but I did manage to get...

Re: Device not found

Thanks Ziko

So far it looks like upgrading to XP SP3 worked for Picoscope (even though it broke internet access via my ADSL modem).

I no longer have the application freeze and it finds the hardware quite reliably now.

Best regards
Philip

Re: Device not found

Went to local supplier today for a swop-out unit with my PC but found the new unit behaved exactly the same. Conclusion at this time is that something on my PC is not right but I would not know what. "System" shows enhanced USB drivers. Updating to XP SP3 FWIW. I do find it hard to accept that my PC...

Re: PicoScope 6 crashes at startup

I have a similar problem but mine does work at times. Thought the hardware was faulty, went to supplier today and tried another but with same results. His PC is a desktop with XP SP3 whereas mine is a notebook with XP SP2. My suspect unit works fine on his PC. Now I'm upgrading with SP3 and hoping...

More info on the frequent application "hang-ups" that I experience (screen dead stationary, "capturing" with moving blue bar in lower rh corner and LED off):

Sometimes, I am able to select Spectrum analyzer which would then work and if I then select Oscilloscope again, it would then work fine again.

OK, it seems like this situation actually has more to do with the amount of low pass filtering (to get a nice clean signal) that is active, than the sampling rate. Only when I reduced the sampling rate to 2KS did the signals match. I then increased the sampling rate again and correspondingly increas...

If you are sampling at the maximum sampling rate of some of our devices the samples for the different channels are not taken at the same time, they are taken sequentially. This could give the impression that the signals are not aligned. You could try swapping the channels around to prove that this ...

Ruler legend not saved

When saving a trace containing rulers as a bmp file I find the rulers are saved but not the ruler legend. Is this intentional or did I miss a setting somewhere? Example attached. PS: Picoscope 6.2.14 did hang with me moments before typing this. I could not even kill the application using Task manage...

Current stops first?

I am at present investigating the opening time of automotive fuel injectors. The attached pic shows 3 traces: Blue: the control signal (Gate) of the transistor that control the injector Red: the injector current through a 0.05Ohm resistor connected to ground Brown: the voltage over the transistor th...

Device not found

Hi all New to the forum and new Picoscope user with a background in electronics (telecoms to more exact). Got my Picoscope 4424 yesterday, started playing with it and first impressions, frankly (with no intent to knock the product), not exactly encouraging. The CD I got had Picoscope 6.2.2.12 SW and...
