Re: Save screen data to csv file

The V7 Save function provides the option to switch file types but unfortunately that does not offer the .mat option, just csv, tab delimited text and 2 ps data options which I do not understand.

Re: Command line interface

I am afraid I have no idea. I am still awaiting a response to my recent thread about is there a manual for V7 which, if like previous versions, should contain such information.

Re: Command line interface

PicoScope 6 Windows version is available via the Discontinued software option on the download page at https://www.picotech.com/downloads . I assume you no longer have the CD PicoTech issue with their devices. Otherwise try the Wayback machine archive at https://archive.org/web/ for earlier versions ...

Re: Save screen data to csv file

I have not found a way of saving a part of a single waveform. Fortunately I can cope with the 50MB csv file but I have also used the MatLab 4 file option in 'save as' which saves a very small file compared to the csv. If you have MatLab or in theory Octave (free software licensed under the GNU Gener...

PicoSoft 7 manual

Is there a manual explaining how to use PicoSoft 7? Whilst it looks like a major advance on version 6, I am finding it almost impossible to use. For example I would like to measure the average value between the rulers but it only gives me the average for the whole wave form. I would also like to sav...

Re: Install for ADC 200 under W10

Thanks for the info. But I am having problems. I am now trying to load PicoScope Ver 5.21.2 onto both a Windows 7 and a Wondows 10 machine and get a message "The file ADC20032.dll failed to load correctly". This appears to stop both PicoScope and PicoLog from seeing my ADC200 using a parallel port t...

Install for ADC 200 under W10

How can I install Picosoft 5.21.1 (or for that matter PicoLog 5.24.8) under Windows 10 for use with an ADC 200? They both start the installation process but do not offer me a choice of ADC 200. (They ran OK under Windows XP on my old machine.)

many thanks in anticipation

Saving part of a waveform

Is there a means by which one can save just part of a waveform, say that between the rulers? I can do it heavy handedly by saving the whole as a csv file, taking it into Excel, plotting all the data and then focusing in on the part I am interested in. But it would be nice to have the flexibility to ...

Stop Go Buttons toggle action

I have just been using the Picoscope in wintry climes and discovered an unfortunate error mode. On trying to stop the scope from recording by using the screen Stop button, in the cold I inadvertently pressed the mouse button twice. I see that this act toggles the action between the Go and Stop butto...

Re: variation in Data Set Length between saved files

I am using software version: 6.12.9.2917 . I note one also sees some padding of the file if one records less than a full wave form and then tries to save it as a full wave form using the Save as / all wave forms command. I will send a file to you but it occurs what ever the data source. (I found out...

variation in Data Set Length between saved files

I have just found that if I set Picosoft to a single trigger and run for just one page to collect a notional 1 Mega set of samples, when I save the data in the .mat format I get 1,000,000 samples but when I save the data in the .csv format I get 1,000,004 samples. Whilst I see Picosoft disclaims a p...

Re: USB lead length problem

I thought all USB cables were required by the spec to be shielded (indeed doubly so with copper braid plus aluminumised polyester foil). However, I thought the experience was worth posting as a 'cautionary tale'.

USB lead length problem

Just had a dreadful day when I thought my Pico 4424 was broken. I went out to do some work in an unheated environment and realized I had forgotten to take the supplied USB lead with me. So I found a 0.63m long one and plugged that in. With no BNC connector plugged in, the notional zero read +15mV on...

Re: # samples when going from .psdata to .mat

The simple work around is to always use the trigger function in single shot mode so the data ends at end of screen. That way the conversion from .psdata to .mat works and we can read all channels OK. However from time to time, we like to use PicoSoft in continuous display mode which gives rise to ou...
