Re: PicoLog CM3 - DateTimeStamp?

Thanks, Martyn.

May I suggest that this datetimestamp feature in the PicoLog 6 software be prominently described on the product description page of your website, as well as the CM3 manual. This feature is an important consideration when evaluating data loggers for purchase.

PicoLog CM3 - DateTimeStamp?

Hi, I'm considering the CM3 to record current (amps) usage every 15 seconds over two weeks. However, I would need the date and time for each sample so I can analyze power usage patterns. I read another post that seems to indicate a DateTimeStamp is not supported and the samples are simply a sequenti...

Blue Pico USB Cable - Ferrite Cores/Beads

Dear Pico Tech team, I know your genuine blue cable is designed for premium performance but one thing I noticed is that it does not contain ferrite chokes which I see on some USB cables to prevent RFI and EMI interference (example photo attached). Have you evaluated and determined there is no benefi...

Re: USB isolator, PicoScope 6 crash

I find it a little odd that this Murata isolator requires 5v power input and then uses an LDO to output ~5v power, essentially the same voltage level. They could have just implemented a pass-through for the external 5v power input to supply the device. Usually a voltage converter is employed when yo...

Re: USB isolator, PicoScope 6 crash

Misan, I'm glad to connect with another 2205 user. I think I now understand your previous reference to 12V was the power input to the Olimex isolator. It has its own internal step-down converter that regulates output to 5V for the Picoscope (or other USB devices). I guess what's important is that yo...

Re: USB isolator, PicoScope 6 crash

Hi Misan, I didn't notice the power limitation on the Intona USB Isolator until you mentioned it. You're right ... that's a showstopper and it's too expensive for what it does anyway. I have the Picoscope 2205, as well. I didn't realize it would work on USB full speed. Now that you've indicated it d...

Re: Using Measurements on Low Pass filter waveform

Gerry, thanks for your explanation. I neglected to include a screenshot in my original question. So I'm attaching a screenshot here along with an example that anyone can duplicate using demo mode. Step-by-step: - I disconnected my Picoscope from my PC so there are no Picoscope model-specific limitat...

Re: USB isolator, PicoScope 6 crash

I'm aware of only one USB Isolator that supports USB 2.0 High Speed. It's made by Intona and it's not cheap. I don't have one myself.

Re: Please clarify which data Whole Trace includes

Gerry, thanks for your comprehensive answer. As I understand your answer, the Capture Count indicates the number of buffers of data used for Measurement calculations of Whole Trace. A related question for a Measurement between rulers : In this case where rulers define the range of the data series on...

Re: Using Measurements on Low Pass filter waveform

... The problem with increasing the time resolution to a higher value is that you lose detail in the visual display and the individual waveform cycles cannot be seen as they get crunched together. I just discovered that by simply zooming in (using the Horizontal Zoom on the second menu bar) I can d...

Re: Using Measurements on Low Pass filter waveform

After more experimenting, I have some partial answers to my own question. With regard to the Frequency Measurement on a Math Channel Low Pass filter, it simply does not work. This may be understandable as frequency is an attribute of the primary channel signal. The Math Channel series could be a cal...

Please clarify which data Whole Trace includes

When I add a Measurement, I have the option of applying it to the Whole Trace or Between Rulers. For the Whole Trace, is the data used in the Measurement calculations limited to what is displayed on the screen at the moment of each calculation? Or, are the Measurement calculations applied across all...

Using Measurements on Low Pass filter waveform

I'm using a Picoscope 2205 with software version 6.11.12.1692. I'm displaying DC voltage ripple and noise on Channel A using AC coupling. I also added some Measurements. Everything looks as expected. Then I created a Math Channel with a Low Pass filter to remove high frequency spikes from the Channe...
