Converting digital Pico-data to sound

Hi I have a 3000 series Picoscope and also want to use 2104 with Pico6. I want to use the 'scope to look at pulsed signal bursts at around 10kHz, but I also want to listen to the 'clicks' on Laptop headphones. Is there an easy way to do this using Windows 7 software, or bought in application softwar...

CANbus in Serial Decoding Window

Hi I am trying to decode data from an inclinometer, and while I am seeing digital CANHigh and CANLow data I cannot set up the serial decoding so that it reads the data coherently. I believe the sensor is at 125 kBit/s but I have also tried the other options of 250 and 500 that are available on the s...

Using RS485 for connection to PicoScope

Hi We have an application for PicoScope where we may have to convert from USB to RS485 to get some range between PicoScope and the PC. (We have used Ethernet via Belkin Hub, but we may now be unable to use Ethernet). Can you tell us if RS485 will have sufficient bandwidth to communicate with PicoSco...

Re: Networking PicoScope with Black Box device

Hi With referenece to connecting to BlackBox - and with reference to your document with Belkin - When we get the New Hardware Wizard with PicoScope in a new USB slot, we find it take 3 - 4 minutes until we get a warning message, prior to Hardware Installation. We do not recollect it being this slow ...

Re: Networking PicoScope with Black Box device

Hi Yes - the notes you have made regarding Belkin connection are very familiar. We have have established a similar routine for getting the connection started. But the BlackBox problem looks different. When we connect PicoScope hardware to a USB port we get the Windows message from icon on bottom rig...

Re: Networking PicoScope with Black Box device

Thanks for the information.
Can you tell us why it is important to keep latency short when using PicoScope like this. Or is it the ethernet protocol which is failing when period betwnn transmit and receive is too long?

Regards

Chris

Networking PicoScope with Black Box device

I have used Belkin successfully to network PicoScope also. Belkin F5L009 delivers data from a number of USB sources on a network cable to laptop. But I have not been able to get the Black Box IC254A 4-port remote system to work with PicoScope. IC254A works as required with all other USB devices. It ...

Re: Converting digital data to sound on PC

OK - thanks
Does the data from PC Oscilloscope appear at the USB port as readable ASCII data (e.g. x,y figures as in the text file)? Or is it a PicoScope binary format?

Converting digital data to sound on PC

Range selection with Spectrum View

Hi I am using P6 v6.2.1.12 and 3424. When using Spectrum View, please can you tell me what, theoretically, is the effect of changing Range while using this view. (I'm using Voltage reference 1mV default, Blackman-Harris average.) In practice, changing the range appears to have the effect of increasi...

Reference Spectrum Waveform

The Spectrum Options I want to use are:-
Spectrum Bins 16384
Window Function Blackmann Harris
Display Mode Average
Scale Logarithmic
Arbitrary dB at 3mV

It may be that spectrum reference will only display 'Magnitidue'.

Reference Spectrum Waveform

I am now using BETA r6.2.1.12 and am interested in using a Spectrum analysis file as a reference. I have used a number of the Spectrum Options to refine the spectrum window, and can save and reproduce the file in Excel. But if I try to use a refined spectrum analysis as a reference waveform, I can o...

Lowpass filtering

I am using BETA r6.2.1.12 (an saving spectrum values to file works OK.)

A new feature of r.6.2 is Lowpass Filtering, but it is not described in Manual psw.en8.

The option responds OK in Channel Options.

Can you send some information about this Opption, please.

Loading BETA version 6.2.1

OK - uninstalling 6.2.0 manually worked.
I'll test the bug-fix tomorrow.

Thanks

Downloading latest beta release r6.2.1

I am interested to save spectrum data also.
I have just registered at the Forum, and tried to download the BETA software onto a PC with 6.2.0.18 recently installed.

However the insallation does not complete. One Instal windows says the download feture requires 0KB on hard drive.

Is there a problem ?
