Re: 5000D vs 5000B

I believe that I've just answered my own question. The question was wether the waveform generator in the 5000A, B and/or D could be triggered to output on scope trigger. The answer is yes in all three instruments. The answer is in the PicoScope 6 User's Guide. The table on page 219, column ST shows ...

Re: 5000D vs 5000B

I noticed the following passage in the 5000D specifications sheet: "Trigger tools allow you to output one or more cycles of a waveform when various conditions are met, such as the scope triggering or a mask limit test failing." I assume that this means that the AWG can be used to produce a trigger o...

Re: ps5000aGetNoOfProcessedCaptures and ps5000aFlashLed

Andrew, thanks. I've been hung up on allocating the buffers and transferring the acquisitions in bulk. I just can't figure out the syntax. Do you have example code showing rapid block mode in action? Or can you see what's wrong with my code here? status = ps5000aRunBlock(handle, numPreTriggerSamples...

ps5000aGetNoOfProcessedCaptures and ps5000aFlashLed

I've been having trouble getting calls to two functions in the .dll to work. In the case of ps5000aGetNoOfProcessedCaptures, the .DLL doesn't seem to recognize the call. ps5000aGetNoOfCaptures is recognized. I couldn't tell from the SDK manual if there was a difference between the two. In the case o...

Re: Hello Pico in Xojo

I'm still able to execute the Xojo code on my Windows10 machine and have a working path forward. I've managed to parameterize the problem a bit more so here's some information in the hopes that it will be useful. I've checked the file sizes and versions vs. those that AndrewA posted and even though ...

Re: Hello Pico in Xojo

AndrewA,

Thanks for doing that.

I was able to download and execute the example program.

It opens the Scope on one of my machines but not another (whereas before it hadn't opened on either).

I think that I can take it from here.

Thanks again for all the help.

Re: Data types

AndrewA asked if I would post Xojo equivalent data types for C/C++ as well. I've omitted all other programming environments other than VB.net which is Xojo's closest relative.

Please contact me through the forum if you find any errors or additions and I will update the chart.

Re: Hello Pico in Xojo

Andrew, Thanks for your thorough reply. The bottom line is that I’m still not able to get HelloPico in Xojo running. I did as you suggested and modified the DRDaq example and was able to get it to run (just like my own bare bones example) but I still got a status of 3 and a handle of 0. But I think ...

Re: Hello Pico in Xojo

One more point of information. I was concerned that perhaps the different programs were calling different .DLLs so I sabotaged the filenames of the different examples of ps5000a.dll. Sabotaging the same instance caused both programs to become inoperable. So the calls from each program are definitely...

Re: Hello Pico in Xojo

One point of information that I noticed: Pico's working VB.net code and my non working Xojo code both call ps5000a.dll but when the VB program calls it, the progress bar is blue and segmented and runs through to the end. When the Xojo program calls it, it's green and continuous and the Pico window d...

Hello Pico in Xojo

I'm trying to get in contact with my PicoScope 5244A in an in-house application that I'm writing in Xojo and I'm stumbling on the first step in the process. Fundamentally, I can't figure out why ps5000aOpenUnit keeps returning my scope status as 3 in Xojo while it returns 282 (as desired) in the VB....
