Re: Reducing tc08 self heating

Thanks for your replys. An improved device would have more themal coupling between the thermocouple sockets, less self heating, and better CJC temperature representation. Ole, did you really see better results with the fan in place? Maby one of these days i'll submerge the pc board in a thermostat c...

Reducing tc08 self heating

Hello, I am using a TC08 USB data logger for thermocouple measurements. I've noticed that the unit self-heats when operating. I found this out by putting it in an insulated box and leaving it there for a long time and then operating the tc08--the cold junction always heats up regardless of the envir...

Re: TC08 hangs up on play and stop

I fixed the problem. For some reason the antivirus software that I used was getting in the way of the pico logger working properly. Disabling the startupservice didn't help, but removing the application sure did. Now all is good.

Re: TC08 hangs up on play and stop

I installed the new version R 5.22.3, but it made no change to my situation. There is still a long hang in response after I click the start and the stop button. Trying a different laptop with the same TC08 USB, the functionality is perfect and there is no significant delay in start or stop. I've bee...

TC08 hangs up on play and stop

Hello, I am using the TC-08 to collect temperature data from eight thermocouples at a sampling rate of one datum per second per thermocouple. After I click the "new file" button and give the file a name, I then click the "play" (start recording) button and the logging program hangs up and doesn't re...

Re: differential thermocouple configuration for TC-08

Actually I've already put the TC-08 inside a couple insulated card board boxes to help prevent temperature gradients forming accoss the unit and drift. Also, the boxes keep fingers away from the plugs. Even still, the apparatus that I 'm using tends to go out of calibration every few weeks and the o...

differential thermocouple configuration for TC-08

I have a TC-08 and would like to use a differentially configured thermocouple with it, using Type T thermocouple materials (copper and copper-nickel). In other words the arrangement that I seek is with a copper wire leaving the thermcouple plug, to form a welded joint with the copper-nickel wire, wh...

TC-08 used with differential thermocouples??

I'm using a TC-08 and was wondering how it can be set up to recordand interpret data from thermocouples that are configured for differential temperature determination, i.e. using two junctions to determine deta T instead of just one junction to determine T. The reason I want to do this is to reduce ...
