Re: Custom Y-axis range

Most commercial scope add a dc offset to the Yaxis automatically so the full displayed window can be used and measured. Often we measure with the Yaxis 0V at the bottom of the screen, eg voltage over a transistor, with a 0-80V i could use a 0-100V scale/ 10V/div. With the picoscope I then have use a...

Re: Can grid of expanded time display be changed?

would it be possible to have an option to display either the time or µS/ div using multiple views. With a large zoom, the indiviual times get silly with decimal points. eg 863.3 then 903.3. Often we do not need the time relative to the trigger point, just a useful us/div. An alternative would  ...

Re: Frequency Response Analyzer with Bode Plots

Dear Aron, it looks really good and thank you for creating the FRA. I am using windows with 64bit and get an error message, saying error in compilation the software needs to be updates for 64bit systems and the declarations should be marked with a "PTRsafe attribute". Is there a simple solution ?

spectrum resolution bandwidth

Is there any way to estimate the effective resolution bandwidth in the spectrum analyser mode to make it semi compatible to standard spectrum anaylsers?

Re: Frequency Response Analyzer with Bode Plots

We are using picoscope 6.11.4.929, with a 5443A.

Our preferred solution is embedding in excel or being able to set up through excel vba.

As this allows full and universal post processing.

thanks again for the great tool

Re: Suggestion for PicoScope 6 Improvement

thanks for sending the suggestion. It is possible to check manually, but I have to go to each setting individually, having it displayed in the properties window would make life easier as it is then possible to check all in one view

Re: Suggestion for PicoScope 6 Improvement

I use direct probes, differential, current etc. It is easy to make a mistake in the probe setup.
Would it be possible to add the probe attenuation factor in the properties window, this would make it easier to check that the setup is correct.?

Re: Frequency Response Analyzer with Bode Plots

the FRA is really good. We save the data to excel and then post process to evaluate inductance etc. But it is a bit tedious manual work.
Is there any way to control) the fra from excel and get is to automatically save the data in excel using VBA or similar

Re: Picoscope not delivering to specification??

I agree an option for the maths to be real time of post processing would be a good work around and cannot be too difficult to do.
Can this be done using macros, so when the trigger is enabled, the maths is turned off and then after capture reanabled ?

Re: Picoscope not delivering to specification??

Thanks with the beta version I can get the 5MS. It seems strange that then maths affects the memory so much. Is this because the maths is done in real time instead of post processing.?
Are there plans to give the full memory with the maths function. ?

Re: Picoscope not delivering to specification??

sorry about the bad syntax. I tried setting the max number of samples to 10MS with 4 channels, single trigger and 5ms/div. The properties window shows 1562500 samples and 31MS/s. If I reduce the time base the sampling rate goes up, but the number of samples is 1250000. I tried your examples of incre...

Re: Picoscope not delivering to specification??

I have the same issue with a 5443A it is specified as having 64ms, so I assume with 4 channels active this is 8ms/ channel in 8 bit mode. Using 4 channels, 20ms/div and single shot trigger the properties shows a mximum of 5,000,000 samples at at rate of 25MS/s. Even going to a single channel the lim...

Re: USB Isolator

I use a isolator from cesys, which seems to work okay with a 5000 series scope. However I need the external power supply.
Is the input/output capacitance of the powersupply specified as this can I worst case create large common mode currents
