Adding two temp probes to an existing DrDAQ installation

I am currently using a DrDAQ directly connected to PC1, an old but normal desktop PC running Windows XP which is acting as a Server, then going via a 20 metre ethernet cable to the ethernet port of PC2, which is an environmentally friendly silent PC, continuously monitoring and recording day & night...

Assertion failed part two

I have now spent some weeks attempting to log six different readings from a single DrDAQ remotely connected to either a PC or a laptop, via the Pico parallel port adaptor, a USB extender and 10 metres of CAT 6 cable. After a maximum of say, 48 hours, the monitor displays "Assertion failed" and the l...

Assertion failed

Ok, picojohn, thanks for the information. Just for the record, it worked OK all day today. Would an earlier version of software be better for my application? Regards, Oldie

Assertion failed!

I am using a DrDAQ with a parallel to USB adaptor, then via a USB to cat5e extender unit so I can monitor my DRDAQ 15 metres away on either a laptop or a PC. Both fail after a few hours running with an Assertion Failure error. I am using the latest software. Any help would be appreciated. I attach a...

Using a DrDAQ and PP196 adaptor remote from the laptop

I am replying to my own post. With the valuable help of Pico's Mr Ziko, and with the advice of a UK supplier of a USB extender I found on the Internet I have solved my problem. The supplier's product appears to work perfectly using 30 metres of Cat 5 cable. :D If you want to know more, please email ...

Using a DrDAQ and PP196 adaptor remote from the laptop

I have two DD100 temperature sensors connected to a DrDAQ. The DrDAQ is connected to a PP196 USB to parallel port adaptor. These, in turn, are connected to my laptop, which has a USB 1.1 port. Connecting these items with a short USB lead works fine, but I want to use them 16 metres apart. I have tri...

Picolog software version error?

Hi, ziko. Sorry for the delay in replying, but I have been on holiday. Are you saying that I can use the same software (5.17.1?) which is intended for the USB ported version of the ADC11, on my parallel ported ADC11?

Regards, Oldie
