Re: 3406D MSO loading the signal

Are you using the exact same probes when you try this on your Tek scope and PicoScope? The bandwidth of a scope probe in 1:1 attenuation setting is significantly lower than its 10:1 setting. I don't know what probes you're using, but the current passive probes Pico sells have a 10MHz bandwidth in 1:...

Re: Reading Max Sample Rate from a PicoScope

But the 3205D's maximum sample rate is 200MHz, and that is with 1 channel enabled. So my method fails. That is not correct. Per the spec's I see published online, the 3205D has a maximum sampling rate of 1GS/s with 1 channel and 500 MS/s with two channels, so your method seems to be working just fi...

Re: Picoscope timebase

The timebase equations are the same regardless of channels used. As you guessed, what's limited is the minimum timebase.

Re: Frequency Response Analyzer with Bode Plots

Hi Aaron, After a few weeks of testing some 2406B, i encountered a problem with the FRA4PicoScope application. Although we have installed the SDK32 bit, the application keeps giving the same error "Signal generator plugin not configured". We tested it on different PCs with Win 7, Win 10 and Win 11 ...

Re: Frequency Response Analyzer with Bode Plots

Nicosten, Those are both excellent suggestions. The second one is already implemented, but I haven't made a release yet. I'll post some screenshots so you can see what is available. On the first one, I've previously envisioned having a separate window to display the (already existing) diagnostic tim...

Re: Frequency Response Analyzer with Bode Plots

Hi Mr. hexamer, I met a problem when using Picoscope 5444D-034 with FRA version 0.7.3b. The program can detect the scope but can not initiate the scope and it gives an error message as below picture . Could you please help to check what the issue maybe? I need to use this scope to test my DC-DC con...

Re: Frequency Response Analyzer with Bode Plots

Hi, can you confirm whether this issue makes the FRA unusable with the 5000D series? or that it just requires the external power connected or otherwise. If there's a workaround I may be looking to buy one of these ASAP, otherwise I'll have to look elsewhere.. Thanks It should only require that DC p...

Re: Frequency Response Analyzer with Bode Plots

Does this program support the 6403D? I downloaded the FRA4PicoScope_0.7.3b.msi file but I see nothing happens. I do not see where can execute the downloaded file or see any icon where to open the FRA4 window. Thank you so much for your kind help. I am not a software geek. It is very difficult to me...

Re: Frequency Response Analyzer with Bode Plots

Thank you for reporting your experience. Can you tell me what error code you're getting during initialization? Sure, this is the error message I see with 5444D scope (serial number obscured **** by me) ps5000aSetChannel( 16384, 2, 0, 0, 0, 0 );Fatal error: Failed to disable channel: 290 Status: 544...

Re: Setting input impedance of the picoscope / software

Unless you have a scope model that has this ability (e.g PS6000A/B/C/D/E), you cannot change the scope's input impedance. All other scopes have a standard 1MOhm input. If you need a 50 Ohm input, you may be able to use a 50 Ohm terminator. See answer here: https://electronics.stackexchange.com/quest...

Re: PicoScope 5000d FuncGen & Jump

I had explored item (2) over here quite some time ago: topic21931.html

Unfortunately I don't think this can be solved without some update to the design of the scope and/or driver.

Re: Frequency Response Analyzer with Bode Plots

I'd like to use the FRA tool with my picoscope 3204B which has a function generator of 600ohms in internal output impedance. The BNC cable type I possess has 50ohms impedance, so is there any problem with the impedance match? If yes how can I workaround it? Hello, Given the fact that the signal is ...

Re: Frequency Response Analyzer with Bode Plots

Hello Kai, Sorry for the delay. Hopefully the following responses to the last couple posts are helpful: 2. "noise reject mode" with the parameters you proposed. In contrast to my expectation, this was not faster. It took 36:50 min. It proceeded faster than measurement (1) for the frequencies below 1...

Hello Kai, I’m so happy that you got it working. Many of these troubles should be remedied in future releases. Thank you again for your patience.
