Re: Trigger on EXT port

Hi haziqsahaja, Could you tell us exactly which model 3000 and 5000 PicoScopes you have, and could you post your psdata file so that we can see how you have thing set up. The sample rate of the channels shouldn't normally be affected by what channel you trigger from. If you could also explain in mor...

Re: IMD measurement and signal generator

Hi teemumm, The answer to your question is yes. However, you need to use the Arbitrary Waveform Generator to do it. Probably the easiest method would be create the waveforms in Excel over a column length equal to the length of the AWG waveform buffer (4096 for PicoScope 4262), then save them as a CS...

Hi Vinnavan,

Can you describe your problem in more detail, and post a psdata file so that we can see what you are doing.

Re: phase noise measurements

No problem. Let us know if you find that that is not the case. We certainly don't have all the bases covered in our products, so we welcome your points of view, and there are always interesting twists on measurement applications that give us an opportunity to adapt what we have, or encourage other u...

Re: phase noise measurements

Hi DeltaPapaCA, There are more recent discussions related to phase noise measurements, or at least phase noise measurements with the application of our Software Development Kit (see here: https://www.picotech.com/library/oscilloscopes/picoscope-software-development-kit-sdk) to creating the required ...

Hi Dan,

I meant to come back to this post but forgot, so thanks for the links - I will take a look when I have some time.

Re: Waveform capture rate

Hi Azibitsker, If you are (a) using a fast enough TimeBase (10ms or less), and (b) not completely filling the waveform buffer of the 6404C when you capture each waveform, then you can split the waveform buffer and use 'Rapid Trigger Mode' in PicoScope 6 (or Fast Block Mode in the SDK). This can give...

Re: Trigger on interval between 2 channels

Hi Benno, If I understand you correctly, what you need is 2 channel logic triggering with timing, which we don't have in a PicoScope, so you would need some hardware to implement this. You could implement it with a watchdog timer function, i.e. Ch C starts a counter/timer, and Ch D stops the Timer, ...

Re: Measure High Power Devices

Hi Volker, Sorry for the delay in responding (I have been out of the office). The P1dB sweep of power and frequency is indeed a single sweep plan of the whole test space. The whole plan runs on the hardware and is not uninterruptible until it completes. This would include closure of the P1dB window....

Re: Project - Machine Downtime

Hi watson118, What you appear to need is a watchdog timer application. So, when (and only when) the timer times-out, the logged level goes to zero. You can do this fairly easily using our Software Development Kit (SDK), and a time delay function (e.g. set to 1 second) used to create a pseudo watchdo...

Re: Pico scope 2205a voltage range

Hi Mikey, Yes, you would be able to measure up to 200V on a x10 setting. however, if the impulse energy of the spikes you are measuring can be classified as CAT II or higher according to the IEC 61010 safety requirements for electrical equipment for measurement, control, and laboratory use, then you...

Re: Monitoring the Signal Generator AWG without a physical channel loopback

Hi MrCallisto, Unfortunately there is no way to do this, as there is no internal link between the Sig Gen and the PicoScope Channels. What you would need is an alternative low cost (if you can find one) or free (if you already have one) data acquisition system that can display waveforms. For instanc...

Hi janmol,

Unfortunately, this is a known issue that applies to all platform versions of PicoScope 6. So, a fix will be implemented, just not yet.

Re: Using picoscope with USB to Ethernet bridge

Hi Mike, I would focus on extending the range by a remote platform running PicoScope 6 that you can log in to because extending the range of USB is prone to start up issues. We have a multistage connection protocol for our Devices, which involves enumerating to find them then, when found, dropping t...
