Response of 2205A at higher frequencies

We have had a 2205A calibrated. One element has raised a couple of questions. A 0.7746 V RMS sine wave was fed in at a range of frequencies. At the top end, the measured reading from the logger dropped off. At 75kHz it was 0.7196 V RMS, a drop of about 7%. Is this what you would expect, or is the lo...

Re: Trigger from either of 2 channels

Thanks. We have a Picoscope 2205. I'll check the advanced trigger options.

Trigger from either of 2 channels

I need to be able to trigger from either of two channels which will be used almost at random. Time pressure during the test will mean its hard to swap the triggering channel or swap the transducers. Is there a way to trigger if either channel activates? Is it possible to trigger from the math channe...

Scaling on graphs

Hi, I've continued some testing from a few months back with the same gear and have got very different answers. This time I created a custom probe to output my results directly in kN. Last time I left them in V (converting later), but I think I may have used x100 probe. Is there anyway I can confirm ...

Re: Intermittent trigger failure

Martyn,
That seems to have cured it. Triggering has been reliable so far with 400N and 0.5% hysteresis and 10% pre trig.
The threshold can't be raised as some impact peaks are less than 1 kN.
Thanks

Re: Intermittent trigger failure

They are applied by hand, so the time between can't much less than half a second.

When it seemed to be having an issue with not triggering during the test, I did some trial single blows that had 2 or 3 seconds between and the intermittent triggering carried on through these.

Re: Intermittent trigger failure

Martyn
I don't have it setup at present, but all the saved files I have are consistant with an impact i.e some zero data while nothing is happening followed by a sharp rise to the initial peak, then some oscillation and secondary features.

Re: Intermittent trigger failure

Thanks for getting back. The attached file has 2 traces. The second is OK, clearly some zero data at the start. The first has triggered too late on a secondary feature. Obviously there is no record of the ones that didn't trigger at all.

Thanks

Intermittent trigger failure

Hi, I'm capturing load data from impacts with a load cell on the face of a mallet. About half of the time everything works perfectly, but the other half (despite the impacts being similar) it either fails to trigger or triggers part way through the impact trace. I think all the pertinent details are...
