Connecting pressure transducer of 4-20mA output

Hi!

How can I connect 4-20 mA output pressure transducer to PT-104?

Please suggest any changes needed to accommodate this. Do I need any external power source?

Thanks!

Connecting Multiple PT-104 to same laptop

Can I connect Multiple PT-104 (USB) to the same laptop and log the readings in my own software?

I have made a software that logs all the readings from single PT-104 (USB or Ehternet).

Thanks!

Re: Improper Voltages being logged in USB PT-104

Martyn,

I assumed that Multimeter is faulty and picolog values are correct. This solved the issue.

Thanks!

Re: Improper Voltages being logged in USB PT-104

Martyn,

Thanks for the response.

In single ended, it is showing almost correct readings. But still, at maximum voltage of 2.5V as shown by multi meter, the picolog software is showing only 2.36V.

How to resolve this?

Re: Improper Voltages being logged in USB PT-104

Martyn, I am connecting to pin no. 2 and 3. Positive of output to pin 3 and negative of output to pin 2. Output is coming from a signal conditioner which is converting 4-20mA to 0-2.5V. There is no scaling. Channel 3 and 4 were set for "differential voltage 2.5V". But they are not showing the correc...

Re: Improper Voltages being logged in USB PT-104

Also would like to add, that the voltage gradually keeps on reducing till it reaches ZERO value in picolog software.

I am really in a fix.

I have to go on site for a test and need this to be addresses urgently.

Thanks!

Improper Voltages being logged in USB PT-104

Hi Martyn, I am logging DC voltages using PT-104. However, the voltages logged are incorrect. Please see the snapshots. When I am using multi meter, the voltage shown is 2.5V at the 4 pin Din terminal adapter. However, the voltage shown by the picolog software is 1.6Volt only. What could be the prob...

Re: PT-104 Ethernet access in own sofware

Thanks Martyn!

I got this.

Please find the final monitor screen of my software. This is how it appears and flashes the readings every 1s or 10s or any other value (configurable timer). Its completely configurable.

Thanks!

Re: PT-104 Ethernet access in own sofware

Yes, The difference is the OS. My laptop is 64 bit. Is this a problem?

I am powering the PT-104 both ways, but same problem persists.

Re: PT-104 Ethernet access in own sofware

Martyn,

Yes, I used same cable for both the laptops and are in the same part of network. In fact, there is no network as such. These are home laptops which are not part of any other network.

Yes, I was able to successfully disconnet from Ethernet from other laptop.

Thanks!

Re: PT-104 Ethernet access in own sofware

Hi Martyn, I tested it on other laptop and it is working fine. However, on my laptop, it is saying "PT-104 unit not opened" for the same codes. (g_handle = 0) Ping is also proper on my laptop for the ip address assigned to the unit. But, with picolog software, Ethernet is functioning properly on my ...

PT-104 Ethernet access in own sofware

Martyn, I wish to access PT-104 using Ethernet option along with USB by giving some condition at the form opening in C#.NET. How can this be done? When I am trying to use callwithIP function, it is giving error that "PT-104 unit is closed". What could be the error? The code is reading IP address and...

Re: Using PT-104 on multiple laptop at the same time

Hi Martyn,

I have been able to do this.

Now, I can run the picolog on two different PCs, one with USB and other with Ethernet.

I changed the IP address on my laptop to 192.168.1.1

Thanks!
