AC or DC.

Voltage and the voltage range you are interested in.

and for safety reasons is it directly connected to mains voltage.

This is chineese export so I don't expect a good THD.

If you only need 2V rms (I suspect audio quality control) you can build your own with a low noise opamp.

If the software can control a digital output signal 3.3V 5V or 24V then you can let the scope trigger to this signal and make the required number of samples before and after the digital signal. You need to use streaming mode for this, if you don't want the gaps. Also 20Msps is 40MB/sec per channel, so 160MB/sec (that is bytes not bits). Can you give us some info of how fast your are streaming, number of samples / second.
and what the allowable timing tolerances are between the software event and the sample data ?

This has the ability to save to .PNG and a lot of other formats lossless compression.

.jpg is a lossy compression. For a screen shot or a scope image you want a lossless image format.

the 4444 has only 4 channels for good power quality analyze you need at least 6 channels preferred 7 if you want to analyze the null wire also. with the 4444 you can do max 2 ch at the same time and no null analyze. You need the PicoScope 6.14.36 software not the SDK.

The SDK is if you want to develop your own software for the scope.

because the output impedance of the sig gen is 600 ohm.

if you want it to be 0 ohm the you need a amplifier between the sig gen and your test setup.

but a amplifier with 0 ohm output blows up if you short circuit it because the current would be infinite.

This is a problem with all calculate spectrum analyzers if the input frequency is above the sample frequency.

Tested with Fluke 196C and exactly the same.
