Re: Max streaming speed 4824A in PS7

I got a email from pico support claiming that the 4824A can do 10MSamples/sec for all 8 channels at the same time. This would add up to 80MSamples/sec == 160MByte/sec over USB3. On the 3404D MSO I have over here PS7 only let me do a total of 40MSamples/sec. (4x10 or 2x20 or 1x40) So my guess is that...

Max streaming speed 4824A in PS7

I am considering buying a 4824A scope. But I need at least 5MS/sec streaming mode with all 8 channels enabled. It is possible in the SDK according the documentation. But in the documentation they only mention PS6 and not PS7, i know some limits are increased in PS7. I see the automotive 8 channel is...

Re: HAving trouble with long time traces

to get rid of the gaps you need to capture al in 1 go (so timebase 10 times longer) then you can set the sample rate to max samples (if needed) And the trigger at 95% and a condition that will never occur. Then the screen starts scrolling the last 100 - 200 seconds and when you stop the capture you ...

Re: Confused on Thermocouple Data

and how did you setup your scope. Because I tested over here with a 1:1 probe and scope set to +/- 20mV and resolution enchantment to the max. Then I can measure the difference between hanging in the air 90uV and holding it in my hand 194uV. But remember you are measuring in the uV ranges so you won...

Re: Confused on Thermocouple Data

where is the other junction of your thermocouple ?
the difference is in the mV range for these type of devices about 40uV / C

Re: How to make a calculation

Use the button at the green arrow.

And if possible switch to picoscope 7 because it has more features, and if there is something you want to be added to the software it will be in PS7

Re: Help with setting up Python SDK (Picoscope 5242D)

The 6000 version libs are gone do nothing for you.
I am not sure if you need the 5000 or the 5000a library's
My guess would be the 5000a because the 5242D is fairly recent.

O and when running your examples the picoscope software must be closed (not running at all)

you are using the wrong zoom button.
Use scroll wheel or the + icon not the [] icon.

Re: Max number of Picoscope 4444 usable on a computer

Ok forget the picoscope software. That would be 400 Msamples total for 4 channels. (picoscope handles up to 250 Msamples) So in picoscope software with 4 channels you get 625 kSamples / sec at 10 sec / division (100 sec total) With the SDK no problem no need for triggers, if I would do it in C++ it ...

Something like below.

My guts tell me this value should be multiplied by the time between the rulers, but I am not that familiar with energy measurement of inductors.

Re: Accessing metadata from .psdata files

Depends of how good you are in hacking but the XML where all the info of the traces is in is in the .psdata file But you need a lot of programming experience to find it and connect the dots. You need to find out for yourself I will not help you with this, because the format is proprietary of picotec...
