Re: Gamma Spectroscopy Pico Device not Compatible-- Help!

It looks like it is mostly python so it should be possible to adapt the python to a 4000 series scope.

Re: Data loss in between waveforms

Yes between captures you lose time because of USB transfer and restart of the capture. So streaming mode is the way to go. with the SDK you can get higher streaming rates than in the picoscope software. What are the desired number of samples / second you need for your application. Seen from your scr...

Re: Data loss in between waveforms

I suppose you don't use triggers. There is time needed to transfer data from the scope to the PC (even if you do triggers) except rapid trigger. But the 2204A has only 8k samples of memory probably not enough for wat you want. Best solution for you is use streaming mode over a period of a few minute...

Re: Repeated rapid block mode in python - acquisition stops without errors/warnings

Code: Select all

// The driver is busy opening a device.
#define PICO_OPEN_OPERATION_IN_PROGRESS             0x00000005UL
My guess is opening en closing the scope in fast succession.

Try keeping the scope open (or wait longer after the close 5 sec or so)

As far as I know not, maybe in the V7 version of the software.

Re: C# About RunStreaming()

Did you have a look at https://github.com/picotech/picosdk-c-sharp-examples
There is a streaming example for every type of scope.

Also examples of setting capture rate and voltages.

Re: Reference subtraction error in MathChannel ?

It has something to do with the name of the reference channel. it was somehow interpreted as 2B so the result was B - (2 * B) Renamed the reference to Bref and the formula to "B-{Bref}" See the attached psdata file for the result Then back to the original file and changed the formula to " B- {B (2)}...

Re: Trigger not working

You try to trigger on a single bit difference of the ADC.
this is not what triggering is suppoost to do.

You can for example trigger on the startup curve of your psu.

trigger single and at 5V for example.
turn the power supply of and on and you have a trigger.

Re: Saving quickly captured data

See for rapid trigger mode and explanation. https://www.picotech.com/support/viewtopic.php?t=17801 Then you can export to matlab and have a array of array's in matlab. The 3205D MSO has 256 MSamples memory for all channels toghether. So if you use 1 channel you can get 1000 captures of 250k Samples ...

Re: continuos storage possible

you can do this with the SDK in C++ of plain C and muli threaded 1 thread saving data and 1 thread reading data from the scope. and some extra tricks I know to get almost realtime performance on Windows. The save thread need to be low priority and the scope read thread need to be the highest prio. A...

Re: Channel: Input unit cannot change

change the probe type to a current clamp or something like that.

You are aware that a scope can only measure voltage on its on and to measure current you measure the voltage over a shunt resistor or use a current clamp (both convert current in voltage in the mV range)

The zip file contains the gerber, kicad and bom files.

If you live in the Netherlands I have 5 boards and 2 in use the other 3 I can give away for free.

Re: Saving quickly captured data

It depends on the number of samples you need per trigger. If all samples fit in the scope memory then you can use rapid trigger mode. you then have all 10k captures in a single .psdata file and you can export it to a matlab file. then you can in numpy read the .mat file. https://stackoverflow.com/qu...

Re: Possibly a newbie mistake involving x10 probes

24V should be no problem with a 1:10 probe.
Probably some short spikes from cel phone or other emc related stuff.

You do use the ground clip of the probe ?
