Re: Why am I losing samples in my application?

If you are familiar with threads you can use multiple threads (1 for reading the data from the scope) and a second thread for writing accumulated data to the file. Think careful about the FIFO between the read and write thread. because you want to do this without (b)locking and there are some points...

Re: I'd like to see a recorder feature.

You can do this with the SDK and you can dit it with a higher sample rate than the PS6 software will let you do.

Re: Trigger on PicoScope Serial Decoder

Feed the serial data in a Raspberry or Arduino and let it generate a digital output signal when it occurs.
Use this to trigger the picoscope.

This is because the serial decoding is done in the PS6 software and not in the scope hardware (where normal triggering is done).

Re: Left border padding in digital view

Little trick I discovered today.
If you enable a 3th analog channel (or math) then the left border becomes 2 times wider and allows for long label names

Measuring signal delay over a long time

I have a signal with a respons time between 0.1 and 2.0 ms see attachment.

I want to run the trace for 24 hours and see what the min and max delay's are for the signal.
Persistence mode can only show 1 signal not both at the same time.

What is the resolution above the 508 ns you want it to fire.
I am thinking about streaming mode en generate trigger moment yourselves.

Re: Picoscope retaining file handles

Ok attempted to reproduce the problem first time explorer is trying to move the file but stays always at 0% (no screen recording of it) closing the Picosope program did not release the lock. So it could be some other external program (stack data synchronization or virus scanner or .....) I will try ...

Re: Picoscope retaining file handles

Yes I noticed the same yesterday. It is not keeping the file handle because then explorer would tell you this. In my case it was moving a file after saving it with Picoscope software. PicoScope® 6 - PC Oscilloscope software version: 6.14.5.4585 Driver Version: 2.1.22.1688 Firmware Version: 1.7.5.0 /...

Re: Continous edge counting

Please try the following option.
2019-10-30_17-06-38.png
Timebase 2 or 5 sec/div (depending on over what time you want to count the pulses)
And then increase buffer size (green arrow) until sample rate (right red arrow) is 50kS.

Stop the trace before the trace is at the ent of the screen.

overview buffer switches A-C and B-D

In the overview buffer (full zoomed out) the during the trace ch A-C and B-D are switched for a short time. The real data (when zooming in on the data) shows the correct data. The switch-over appears to be always at the same location and always on the left side of the screen.

    Re: picoscope file format

you are on your own in this.
it is a closed file format and they won't give the information.
If you have enough determination and your programming skills are good enough you can do it.
if you know the basics it is not a complex format.

Re: Streaming mode at high sampling rate

From here USB 3.0 is about ten times faster, with a theoretical maximum transfer rate of about 400 MB/s. USB 3.0 PicoScopes have exceeded 150 MS/s in tests. Each sample is (most of the times 16bits or 2 bytes) so the max you...
