R5.16.2 user manual

I have recently loaded XP Professional Service Pack 2 on a MacBook Pro with Bootcamp. Microsoft doesn't update this software now but the version from the install disk works. R5.16.2 for a 3424 is installed and runs. I can read the instruction manual with the software, but I would like a pdf copy of ...

6.0.15 trigger

I think I have the latest version of Picoscope software installed for my 3224. I am now using Picoscope instead of Picolog, since I find I can record up to two million samples on all four channels at slow sweep speeds, while in Picolog, I could only record 512,000 samples in one channel. No complain...

Problem with Picoscope 6.0.13.3

In previous posts I described a problem I was having with 6.0.13.3 crashing XP Pro. I am using Bootcamp on a Mac Pro and have had no problems with 5.19.1 for Picoscope and Picolog in the past. With both Picolog 5.19.1 and Picoscope 5.19.1 installed alone I don't have a problem. Picolog is the progra...

continuing problems with picoscope 6.0.13.3

After reinstallation of 6.0.13.3 for my 3424, it has crashed XP Pro three times. The first time occurred when I tried to change the sweep speed. Although I could move the cursor with the mouse, XP Pro wouldn't respond to mouse clicks and I had to do a cold boot. The second and third times occurred i...

Picolog problem

Thanks for letting me know I have a two year warranty. I'm not at the point were I want to return the unit yet. Here is the current situation. Perhaps you can tell me how to keep the problem from recurring. I asked XP Pro to remove all the Picotech software and then downloaded 6.0.13.3 and installed...

intermittent 3424

Since installing 6.0.13.3 I have had a bit of trouble with both Picoscope and Picolog. My current problems: Frequently when I run picoscope it can't find the hardware. When I unplug and plug the 3424 in again, XP wants to reinstall the software. I let it do that today. Picoscope could then find the ...

software update

I have a picoscope 3224. I have just updated the picoscope software to 6.0.13. Does this update software for the datalog program also? If not, how do I do that?

5000 series scope

Can the 5000 series scope be used with picolog? Making use of the large buffer, can oversampling be used to reduce noise and increase resolution over the 8 bit sample size in the audio range (assuming noise will jitter the signal into different bins)?

text output

I have installed 5.17.1 When I want to convert a picolog file to text, after I select .txt as the type, I have to append .txt to the file name or picolog will attempt to over write the orginal file. Why doesn't picolog automatically recognize the file as a differnt type? The text file that is writte...

picolog text output

When I record one channel and output the file as .txt, I get a time column and a data column. If I record two channels and output the file as .txt, the two data channels are merged with no spaces or tab between them and cannot be read by any program that I am aware of, certainly not Excel. The work ...

poicoscope 6

When I opened Picoscope 6 the splash screen identified the software as 6.011.2. When the scope window came up it was displaying a trace in the A channel without my doiing anything. Since I had tried this a half dozen times previously with no results, I can only assume that an update was recently dow...

picoscope 6 software

I downloaded picoscope 6 for my 3424, and I cannot get a trace. The same signal input on A with 5.16.2 shows a DC trace that I can vary on the 20mv range with trigger set to none. With the same settings on Picoscope 6 I get nothing. On Auto I get an off scale indication on all ranges.

Is the operating system overhead slowing down the 1 ms sampling rate specific for an Intel Mac with XP Pro, or is it generally true for PCs?

picolog sampling rate

When I set picolog to real time continuous, 1 msec sample interval, and 1 reading/sample in one channel, it takes about 3 milliseconds to record a sample. If I set it for two channels, it takes about 10 milliceconds to record a sample. What must I do to get actual real time sampling? And why is the ...

picolog calculator

I have had a 3424 for about a week and I am quite pleased with it. I had thought when I bought that I would want to record data with Picoscope, but it turns out that Picolog is what I actually want to use. If I had understood what Picolog could do from your website, I would probably have bought six ...
