Hi All I am logging 5 channels at 1 second intervals on a i7 laptop running Windows 8. I started the program at 1430hrs UTC to do 24 hour worth of samples (60x60x24=86400 total). Only one I have seen is in a radioshack book. It was a long tube (3 feet) with a suspended magnet over a hall sensor. Tube was screwed to the bed rock and I think the magnet has to be heavy to avoide being effected by the earth's magnetic field.
