Natan, While we're waiting for the experts, here's a word from a user. I hope I understand your question. (Note firstly that some of the 3000 series scopes use 12-bit quantisation, so depending on your needs, they might be suitable already.) The issue is that you don't want to "waste" headroom on th...

Hi Johan, It might not help you because your scope is different from mine, but sometimes you can get lower CPU usage by changing away from full screen. I have done lots of trials of the software at different timebases. When the PicoScope software is running full screen it often reaches 100%. When yo...

Max sampling rates on 3423

Hi, I've been using the useful Sample Rate Calculator, recommended by Autonerdz -- fantastic web site too! Sometimes I cannot reach the counts of Samples on Screen predicted by the calculator. Could anyone with one of these models please let me know what is the "Samples on Screen" they can get with ...

I have read the new manual, looks good. It covers a lot of improvements. I'm having a bit of trouble with the installation because it keeps wanting me to go back on the internet, but I have to swap out the network card to put in the USB 2.0 card. Should I just leave the network card in until the end...

Hi Autonerdz, Impressed, eh? If you knew my obsession with trying to spot the pattern between requested versus achieved capture counts, you'd probably be sending in the Nice Young Men In Their Clean White Coats... Luckily you don't know how many hours I've spent, repeating trial runs, trying to beco...

Hi, the calculator is neat for some of my results. I did a set of trials using 4 channels with 125000 in Settings Options... Advanced>>> I also lowered the display rate in File Setup Display (but I don't know whether that affects it) I found the similar results as the calculator for screen times up ...

Hi Sarah, Thanks for your reply, which I don't really follow the logic of. Forget the question about release notes then; maybe it means something different to you than it does to me. How do I decide whether it is worthwhile updating a new version, if I don't know what issues, or at very least which ...

Documentation

Hi, The User Guide tells us that: [in Scope mode] Settings Options... Advanced>>> lets us set a value for: Maximum samples per scope trace I can see the point in setting a maximum, but it does not say on what basis the software only saves a lower number. Could you explain how it chooses the number t...

Do Pico recommend all users to upgrade to latest software?

Hi, I see with some alarm that you have released two! software updates since I got my new Pico scope, last week. I haven't had time yet to digest the manual ;-) Two questions: 1. Do you recommend that all users upgrade, even when they might not have experienced any problems? 2. Where are the precise...

USB picoscope on same PC as parallel port scope

Is it possible to run both a USB scope and a parallel port scope at the same time? Or if not a parallel port scope, then the parallel port data aquistion software?
Thanks,
Ed
