Re: Trigger "window" in "Scope Mode".

Hi, It looks as if your signal is fairly noisy so the simple edge trigger is sometimes triggering on the noise. To trigger on such a signal try using the advanced edge trigger and increasing the hysteresis - see here for more details https://www.picotech.com/library/oscilloscopes/advanced-digital-tr...

Re: bad SNR of signal gen

The peak at 20kHz looks odd and I wonder where it is being picked up from. Try a BNC to BNC cable rather than a scope probe for better shielding. Try also changing the frequency of the sig gen to see if the 20kHz peak moves in frequency. If it does not then try turning the sig gen off - is it still ...

Re: "PicoScope 7 Automotive Beta: Open To All" ?

PS7 is being done first for automotive as some features that will take a while to add (spectrum mode, masks, deep measure, decoders etc) are more T&M features. PS7 automotive is nearly complete so during 2021 the focus will be on the T&M version. I can not give an exact date as to when it will be re...

Re: "PicoScope 7 Automotive Beta: Open To All" ?

Got it - thanks! That post was put there as we were getting quite a few T&M customers asking if / when they could use PicoScope 7. The post does explain it is a beta at the moment, missing features and only works with automotive scopes. I agree the "Open to all" graphic is misleading and I can see h...

Re: "PicoScope 7 Automotive Beta: Open To All" ?

Hi Nurber, PicoScope 7 is for automotive users / scopes only at the moment. Where on the T&M web site (picotech.com) does it say its open to all? We may have made a mistake as it should only be on picoauto.com). Thanks!

Re: Attenuators in series?

You should not try to cascade two TA197 10:1 attenuators for 2 reasons. The first is safety - the attenuator is rated at 400V max. Using 2 in series does not increase the safe working voltage - it is still 400V. The second reason is that you will not get the right attenuation - the TA197 is designed...

Re: picoscope file format

The best option is to save as a matlab file - this is binary and the file format is published.
PicoScope file format changes over time as we add new features so is complex / not publicly documented.

Re: Any plans for dark theme ?

All the colors (traces, backgrounds, grids) can be changed to suit. Its a bit hidden so easy to miss - try Tools / Preferences / Colors. You have to change each setting individually so agree a dark theme would be a good idea.

Re: did i make a HUGE bummer?

Hi,

Dont worry if the unit is new we will sort things out with you. I suggest you email sales@picotech.com with details of when and from who you purchased the 4444 and they can advise the best way of swapping it for a 4425.

Include a link in the email to this thread on the forum.

Re: Current measurement

Hi Gustav, Could you let us know which PicoScope you have and what is the max current you want to be able to measure from the battery. To give a quick example using the 1 ohm resistor - lets assume you can cope with a 200mV drop across the resistor at peak current then thats 200mA. I would suggest y...

Re: How to measure the rise time? Results are emty.

To measure rise time accurately there need to be several samples on the rising edge of the square wave. As its a vertical edge there may not be enough samples - try using a shorter timebase so there are less square waves / edges on the screen. This should increase the number of samples used to make ...

Re: Measure LFXO precisely

Hi. As you have a PicoScope 5000 you have access to the DeepMeasure feature in the lastest software. This will give higher resolution / more digits for your frequency measurement. https://www.picotech.com/library/oscilloscopes/deepmeasure Your PicoScope 5444B has a timebase accuracy of ±2 ppm (±1 pp...
