Re: ECU report P0420 - 007 Catalyst efficiency below thresho

Mirda, First of all, it seems this is automotive specific, so this particular forum is probably incorrectly placed. Secondly, it would be helpful if you would put the year, make, and model in your post. I agree with Mr. Hill. I'm not understanding the question either. What is the course you are refe...

Re: Can you change channel name to a meaningful name?

Not that I'm aware of. What many of us do is just place that information in the notes section.

Go to Edit | Notes and then place that information in the bottom for easy reference if you decide to pull up that file.

COP Probe

Hello Guest, I will assume you are referring to the Coil-On-Plug probe. The PP338 will work with many DSOs and igniton systems, however, be aware that this isn't always the case. For starters, you have to realize that the voltage accuracy cannot be consistant by nature of the physics involved. As I'...

Hello guest, I'm not so sure a good answer could be given for your interest in this. For most applications, PicoScope will work well with the 10,000:1 ratio. It would be up to the operator to find the area around the magnetic field that works best. Field strength differ from each application, so the...

Jorge, Automotive lab scope diagnostics will open up a whole new world for you. Since you are a beginner, you’ll need some help getting started. I can assure you that the Autonerdz experience is well worth checking into. If you haven’t already, check out the community forums here: http://www.aut...

Peter, As John mentioned, we would need to know more detail, but it can certainly be done. The software allows you to convert a voltage into a PSI range or a TEMP range. You just need to know what that voltage and pressure is at the low end and the top end. Same for temperature. If it is non-linear ...

You're welcome, Alan. Hey, don't cut yourself short. You're doing a good job helping others. I just happen to know ranging very well and thought it would be a good idea to make sure our users have it right. I personally would like to see this same ranging in PS 6, but I understand the justification ...

For clarification, I think Alan meant the -100A to 100A range should look like this provided your high current probe is outputting 1mV/AMP.

-100 -100
100 100

Hello Michael,

I hope you don't mind me jumping in here.

Your step calculation makes perfect sense except for one thing. How does 2x10^8 =256? I'm not familiar with the "^" symbol.

Thanks,

Hi TC, When operating at the most sensitive input voltage ranges, there may be a small offset (perhaps a few millivolts) on the voltage readings. Go to Settings | Offset null and choose the channel you desire for compensation. To remove this offset, short the positive and negative leads together. Pi...

Hi Sarah,

I can't be sure, but it seems as though the poster is testing breaker limitations. Maybe durations of high current when "trip" takes place? Like you mentioned, the voltage is a major consideration here. I'm wondering myself if mains are involved.

Go to Settings, roll your mouse arrow to Probes and to the right click on the attenuation and PicoScope will set the scaling accordingly. Two clicks of the mouse and your there. I'm not so sure there could be a faster way unless I misunderstood your suggestion.

Thanks,
Carl

Hi Brad, I think you'll find it very easy to navigate through. The controls are well laid out for easy access to make changes. The learning curve is steeper for the less computer savy type person. If you have some basic windows skills, you'll sail right through it without a hitch. If you don't, it t...
