Re: Slow sampling mode/Trigger inquiry

Thanks for the follow up, Martyn. Mystery solved. That low of a sample rate distorts the sample 1kHz square wave I used for the animation but no more blockiness. Streaming mode number sample must always be increased to faithfully reconstruct the signals so the blocky wave would always be an issue do...

Re: Slow sampling mode/Trigger inquiry

Martyn, I used the latest 6.6.23.2 for that example. Similar results from the 6.7.3.2 beta (unreleased) It's not an issue for us. We don't really have a need to zoom live in streaming mode. The false trigger technique works very well as we demonstrate here: http://www.autonerdz.com/cgi/yabb2/YaBB.pl...

Re: Slow sampling mode/Trigger inquiry

Martyn,

Here is an animation showing what happens when you zoom as described live. The signal is not properly represented until you stop the scope and the data is processed.

Re: Slow sampling mode/Trigger inquiry

Martyn,
Zooming in on this will give you what you are looking for.
This will not work live though. You must stop the scope before the data can be seen when zooming in streaming mode..

Re: How do you add an offset to correct a probe's zero input

No worries. The Pico team is on it and I'm sure this will be released in a fully operational build soon. I have never encountered a more dedicated group of individuals with such focus on customers needs....other than us of course  _________________ Tom Roberts (The Picotologist) http://www.auto...

Re: How do you add an offset to correct a probe's zero input

GregerG, You will not be able to edit or create a probe with the 6.5.42 beta. It's broken. Uninstall it, delete the Pico Technology folder and go to the 6.4.95 release version. _________________ Tom Roberts (The Picotologist) http://www.autonerdz.com skype: autonerdz THE PicoScope Automotive Authori...

Re: Refresh speed

John, Based on the fact that you are only getting three captures in the buffer, I would guess that your sample rate is very high. Check the properties tab to see. You can probably turn that down quite a bit. This would result in much faster updates and many more captures in the buffer. _____________...

Re: new funtion

Massimo, Yes. Duplicate the x1 probe into your custom probes library. Then edit the probe changing the range management to advanced, auto generate ranges, and then add your desired 0-5v range. Have your scope plugged in when you do this so you generate all the hardware ranges for that model. You can...

You're welcome, Brian.

You should find that in the 'How To' section of the Users Guide under Help.

Re: X and Y Cursors how to turn on

You will find two horizontal rulers for each active channel. These can be dragged down from the upper corners of the screen with your left mouse button. Click and drag the small square boxes at the top of the channel scaling. These are color coded to each channel. You will find two vertical rulers i...

Re: How do you add an offset to correct a probe's zero input

You would do that with the y = mx + c within custom probes.

Someting better....Under channel options use low pass filtering. You can dial in just the amount you need.

David, The Tools/Custom Probes takes you the the custom probe editing area. This is where you can create and edit custom probes but you cannot select them from that area. To select the probe you want for a channel, choose the channel options for that channel. In the current version, this is the chan...

Re: picoscope on an ibm t41

anand, Just asked about data gaps to see if this might be related to another couple of isolated issues we had seen. If you had that issue you would not be asking what I meant. :) No, I do not think the processor is an issue. One Gig RAM should be OK. More is always better though. 8) In streaming mod...

Re: picoscope on an ibm t41

anand, We have seen this. First of all, you need more RAM in your PC. 512 is not enough capacity for streaming mode loads with all channels running and samples turned up. Your PC will run out of RAM and start grabbing pagefile and this makes it slow way down. However, this may not be related to this...
