Picoscope instance freezes when multiple instances open

In my problem analysis I must view multiple waveforms repeatedly (making measurement, investigating details etc). It is most convenient to open 6 or so files at one time. Each file contains two channels of data totaling 100k samples (not very big) I find usually 1 or 2 instances of Picoscope freezes...

Re: Math Channel (derivative)

+Hitesh, Thank you for the reply, however I'm not sure I understand your response. To calculate a derivative, I would normally calculate; delta voltage / delta time. It appears the math channel uses the delta time for one sample to the next. This however becomes very noisy so I would normally averag...

Math Channel (derivative)

I would like to use the derivative operator to create a Math channel from measurement data. I've found the d/dx function calculates the derivative on a per sample basis. This makes result very "noisy". I tried the derivative of the average but could not get it to work. Is it possible to specify the ...

Re: Ext Trigger Input, Safe Limits

Martyn

Thanks again for a fast response.

I will add a clipping circuit but now I won't worry about damage if we loose the clipping circuit ground.

Thanks

Re: Ext Trigger Input, Safe Limits

Martyn, thanks for the fast response. I would ask for one bit of further clarification. Our application will work if triggering on a voltage below 5V. Say TTL levels. However the voltage will continue to rise to 16V or so before it stabilizes. Basically we are triggering on the edge of the power sup...

Ext Trigger Input, Safe Limits

I was wondering how to safely interpret the External Trigger voltage specifications. The 3206B Ext Trigger Spec is +/- 5v (active) and +/-100 Volt overvoltage. Often "overvoltage" specifications suggest some limited occurance criteria. Is this the case with the 3206B? We are in a 0 to 20 Volt enviro...

Custom Probe on Channel D causes Lockup

I experienced a lockup when trying to select channel D as a trigger. I have a 6402B and am using Picoscope 6.6.50.3 My setup was: - Single trigger - 20 ms time base - Channels A, B and C are all voltage +/- 20 V , probes are internal X10 - Channel D is a custom probe, created when using a 3406B and ...

Picoscope V6.6.23RC crashes on probe setup

I can crash PicoScope repeatedly selecting a probe.... I am using V6.6.23 (RC) on Win XP (latest updates) on an older laptop. I have a custom probe in the library (nothing special, just a current transducer. If I follow the steps below I can case a fatal error repeatedly, every time: - Start Picosco...

Re: Custom Probes (DC and AC operation)

Ziko, Thank you for the prompt reply. Quite frankly I didn't necessarily expect a reply so there has been some delay in my response. 1) Custom Probe in AC mode: I am using a 3206B with PicoScope 6.5.78.5 Input is from a Pressure Sensor. The custom probe parameters are: m = 271.6 and c = 135.5 kPa. T...

Custom Probes (DC and AC operation)

Am using Picoscope V6.5.78 and I am very happy with it's function(s). 1) Custom Probe in AC mode: I have found a peculiarity when using a custom prove in both the DC and AC coupling (not at the same time of course). I find the offset is applied in both coupling modes. For me, the offset should be re...
